Re: Last thing I expected from Notre Dame

South Bend gets some ridiculous snowfall from its position near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, not far from Chicago but they get dumped on compared to Chicago almost anytime I look at snow storms.

Not sure if that's an excuse for not having a nice field for Sept-Oct-Nov, temperatures are probably comparable to Ames but snow and ice is probably greater.

    What B12 stadiums have grass?
Oklahoma and ISU the only ones?

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Lots of different kinds of grasses. Wondering if ISU has a breed that is supposed to be in best shape in the fall? I don't know if such a thing exists but it wouldn't surprise me if it did

Would we have the quality of field we do if it weren't for our Horticulture Department and Turf Management Program? We have a major advantage there.

couldn't care less what it looks like Dec - Mid August. It could be black and gooey for all I care.

All that matters is 6 or 7 game days between Aug and Nov.

And for the most of those dates - it's a gorgeous, gorgeous sight.

I perfer a grass field, but have heard from several people that the new field turf is really nice to play on, except when you get one of those rub shrouds in the eye.

Still hate it. It looks awful when those black bits of rubber fly in the air. Football is always better on natural grass.

I'm 22 and I grew up with absolutely no idea Notre Dame was any good at football back in the day, so I don't think the tradition is as strong as some people think.

Actually that is a lie. I had a brain fart and got my dirty Kelly coaches mixed up. Chip just cheated, Brian actually killed someone. I apologize and for the record my coworker did say Brian and not Chip.
