I've only been in the neighborhood less than two months, and at this point I'm pretty sure I would be "the guy that is always complaining about everyone else's dogs".

Re: How would your neighbors describe you and your family

Changing mine to "the stay at home dad"
I have an office but spend over half my time working from home. Had another guy move to the neighborhood and my next door neighbor tells me "he's a stay at home dad like you"
Funny part is I know what my neighbor does and I'm pretty sure I make probably twice as much as he does. WHen the new year hit I started working out at 445 am and get home around 545-6. After a couple weeks of that he asked if I started working overnights to help make ends meet. Appreciate his concern anyway and I'm pretty sure the neighborhood is safe with him around.

Re: How would your neighbors describe you and your family

Our "neighbors" don't know me very much. Hubby, on the other hand, they know well. Private gravel lane with six houses...he does all the plowing & maintaining with his bobcat, has a huge shop with all kinds of hand, table & pneumatic tools. The hose for the air compressor hangs outside the shop, available for others to use.

I'd say they think of us (really, him) as the people to go to when they need to borrow a tool or need help with heavy lifting.

Re: How would your neighbors describe you and your family

I never really thought about what the neighbors saw until a neighbor asked me about every women I had over and other fairly detailed events. It was pretty obvious he was keeping an eye on the place. That family moved and I'm pretty happy they're gone.

I probably walk nude in front of the windows too often. It's very possible I'm the Naked Guy.

Re: How would your neighbors describe you and your family

The kids in the neighborhood probably refer to us as the house with the tree swing. It's fair game.

Seeing how we're one of the longest residents on our street, we're probably seen as the "people that have been there forever" or "the people whose lawn manages to look worse every year despite the fact that they work on it a lot"

Maybe you're thought of as a couple of gays.

I need a SCarolinaCy Rosetta Stone I guess. Because I said "longest residents", that implies my wife and I are gay?

It seems unfair to the gay community that you associate them with my poor word choice.

Share that stone with me, would you please? That reference was totally random...I apparently missed the "gay factor" in your post.
