Pretty much any golf course. I know others have been more fortunate than me, but Troon North is the coolest course I've played. The greatest place for me though is down the street. Waveland.

Re: Favorite place of all time?

Probably Scotland for me as well. Didn't get to make it to the Highlands, but I so badly want to go back. I loved the culture and scenery. I just love everything Scottish. I'm definitely doing a return trip to the UK and Ireland.

Chattanooga or Nashville for the US and then the beach in Negril and the Reading Room in Kildee for the memories :)

I should probably put the family farm on the list as well :P

    Least favorite.......

the Dakotas in winter and the middle of Nebraska aren't terribly exciting.

Re: Favorite place of all time?

I think Lt. Col. Frank Slade said it best (edited slightly):

Women! What can you say? Who made 'em? God must have been a ***** genius. The hair... They say the hair is everything, you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls... just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips... and when they touched, yours were like... that first swallow of wine... after you just crossed the desert. Mmm. Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns... or secondhand Steinways. What's between 'em... passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr Sims, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing:

aaannd we'll cut it off there.

Gravity Bar on top of the Guinness Brewery in Dublin. 360 degree view of the city. Nothing like drinking the ruby goodness straight from the source while taking in the gorgeous view.

Re: Favorite place of all time?

Love the stretch of HWY A1A through Delray Beach, Florida. Brings back memories of family vacations, visiting grandparents there when I was a kid.

A few spots in the Rockies for their scenic and serene qualities.

And I always get a great feeling when I'm rolling up I-35 towards Ames just north of Huxley. The anticipation of getting there for a game or visiting friends is tough to beat. It's not as often as it used to be, but sure enjoy it. Guessing next time will be 115 days from today!

Maui - Specifically the narrow roadway that goes up and around the northwest corner of the island. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, awesome houses to dream about owning and the entire island has a laid-back and relaxing feel to it. Can't wait to get back there again.

Re: Favorite place of all time?

I love so many places, but I think there are 3 that I would own homes in if I was wealthy and had 4 homes :)

    1. Ireland--beautiful country, really nice people. So many wonderful places to visit.
    2. New York City--I grew up on a farm and don't love big cities, but New York is different and the idea of living in that city is so appealing.
    3. New Orleans--again, I thought I would hate it and it would be all Bourbon Street. But it's got such charm and I'd love to have access to that kind of music all of the time.

That last part...I start to feel a little funny as soon as I hit Highway 30.

Re: Favorite place of all time?

Depends on my mood, but some of my favorite places are:
    1) Blue Sky Basin at Vail, CO after a big snow storm.
    2) Top of Breckenridge, CO during a sunny day.
    3) Hilton Coliseum and Jack Trice Stadium.
    4) My bed.
