Yes, I would say get the okay from the bride before going with the shorts. You may tick off the mothers, but the bride's okay is what counts.
If I do wear the shorts, I am wearing boat shoes with them.

Yes, I agree. However, many women get crazy when they are planning a wedding to the nth degree. We're not all bridezillas, but we DO tend to obsess over the dumbest things!

I think most people would in that scenario. It's easy to be the noble one. In fact, KC tried taking that way out with the original question even. The question is more about controlling the destinies of others, not oneself, as we control our own destiny every minute of every day already.

Every woman I've spoken with about this says in the long run most of it doesn't matter. Barring something really good or really bad no one but you will remember the colors of your wedding. No one but you will remember the dinner options. My wife said when the wedding day actually arrived she just stopped caring about the details and it was a weight off of her shoulders.

Do they make women's boots that aren't so big in the calf area? My wife really wants some but the calf area of most boots is so dang big it doesn't look right with her smaller calves.

This is depends on the location and age imo. I have been to weddings in rural Iowa where the only people wearing suits or ties for that matter were the wedding party and men 50+. 40-50 is a mix and under 40 is a mix of khakis or nice jeans with a polo or nice long sleeve shirt.

Dandy is this a friend from your hometown? If so you would pry be the most dressed up as most people just wear overalls wear you are from

White long sleeve button up, those shorts and boat shoes. Bam.

Or dress up for wedding and then change before reception

A wedding I was at last weekend a guy was wearing plaid shorts and a Hurley shirt. Don't do that.

I'm not pyschopathic. I wonder if it means that I'm fatalistic?

Hubby laughs at me because I used to love to go out hunting with him, had a little 410 that I used...loved to watch our Brittanies work the fields & brush. However, although I've destroyed many many skeet and killed the heck out of all kinds of boxes & bottles, I have never been able to pull the trigger on anything with eyeballs. I don't know why. I have no problem at all watching other people shoot game (for FOOD, not for trophies), I understand that all of the meat I eat has to be killed by somebody, I can pluck & clean a bird (hubby does the deer). I really can't explain it...but I seriously don't think I would be able to push either button.

Sorry if I blew your study...

I'd say you should use this philosophy for this ensemble under any circumstances.

She's right! I have found that it's the silly booboos that you remember more than the perfect scented candles at the reception. When you add in the fact that hubby's sons were the "best men", his daughters were my bridesmaids, and my sons were the groomsmen...and they ranged in age from 13-19...having an imperfect wedding was a foregone conclusion for us! :)
