I wouldn't be shocked if the total cost is ~$2,500.

This isn't a light fixture in your home . . . installed by a novice.

You can't teach stupid though. It's pretty clear David Irving isn't a very smart individual. Either way you are correct... there's no way you can babysit these guys all the time. They're going to do what they're going to do, and in the case of someone like Irving clearly he isn't the kind of guy that has what it takes to focus on what's important.

Light pole was valued at $4,400 which is where the felony came from.

Frickin wonderful. I hope to hell we can find another Juco somehow.
Coe comes back with a wig?

So, we have no one in the 260 pound dline tackles that have taken a game time snap? I think rec ruiting needs to be a primary focus each year more so than even in the past. Obviously these guys are crucial.

Re: Irving Pic Holding Stop Sign At Riot

If he uprooted a light pole, then yeah, it's a pretty cut-and-dried Criminal Mischief 2nd.

Hopefully they work out some deal where Irving pays for the damage, they reduce the charge, and put him on probation.

Don't give me the "Honor Before Victory" on this one. If we keep losing D linemen, we might not see any victory, and despite the felony level charges, Criminal Mischief isn't as bad as it can sound. But hell, if they're going to start cracking down on Veishea rioters they have to something about this.

    ****, Irving. Stupid *** hole.

We have only heard the light pole and the stop sign's version of the story. From what I've heard they are both crazy. I think they were the ones actually trying to tear him down. I would bet they eventually drop the charges.

Agree...as my friend used to say and I took from him "you can't teach judgement or cure stupid."

Call me old school, but the same visibility that can get these guys in trouble can also be a HUGE gift. Look at Payne at Michigan State and the impact he made on that little girl. But, as we all know, some people DO make it through the ringer of college and make millions...but still lose millions because, well, stupidity.

Thankfully the majority of the young men I've interacted with on the team are great young men. Guys like David perpetuate why some people assume the bad in football players.

Got an idea guys. Where's the evidence being held at?

You'll thank me when they hold a team under 200 rushing yards this year.

Guess that "eye witness" must have been a little confused.

Maybe he was removing the light post so the ambulance could get through?

Police and EMTs can usually figure out how to work around light poles and stop signs that are in the ground, where they should be. So the theory that he was trying to help by moving them out of the way can be put to rest.

    Suspended indefinitely. Good work David!

Here's how to beat Iowa State in football this fall.

Handoff, up the middle - touchdown. Repeat.
