We tried to leave when **** hit the fan, but our car was parked pretty close to Welch so we couldn't leave.

Anyway, when one of the light poles fell and there were rumblings that somebody was seriously hurt, I looked over that way. I then saw David Irving (I immediately recognized him) and it appeared to me that he was trying to move the pole of the street and clearing the way for help. Again, that was what I saw and I could be completely wrong, but he looked like he definitely trying to help. I don't know if he's moving that stop sign out of the way or if he tore it out, but I'm just saying what I saw him do last night.
We all joke about emailing Pollard, but if this is true you may want to consider emailing CPR and JP with what you saw and your contact information. It may be important to corroborate Irving's story.

    It does.

That could be viewed as inciting a riot.

People who think he was just holding it or moving it are the worst type of people. They're the "not my child" types.

If you were moving a sign, you wouldn't do it by holding the sign end up. He wasn't getting it out of the way, though. So, that's a moot point.

CPR will look the other way like he always does.

We really can't afford another 3 win season, Leath may just dissolve the football program.

Or they are "people" who were actually there and, you know, actually witnessed what happened. People who jump to illogical conclusions based on no personal knowledge are the worst type of people. They're the "other people's kids..." types.

Not that I really disagree with your main point, but the worst type of people are people that perceive to know what happened when they weren't there or had nothing to do with the situation.

Chances are you are 100% right. If you are, Irving will probably be charged and arrested by Police. However, let the process play itself out. One of the biggest problems with society anymore is that you are guilty until proven innocent, and everyone jumps to conclusions before gathering all the facts.

He's holding a recently knocked down stop sign into the air while smiling as people take pictures.

Don't be an imbecile. Not today.

Only a complete dipsh*t would think he was moving it so ambulances could get through.

Do you really think that people thinking you're guilty until proven innocent is one of the biggest problems in society today?

    Do you really think that?

What if they asked him to move it (again, because of his size and that those signs are freaking heavy), and instead of just simply moving it, he decided to have a little fun with it. Does not make it right, but at the same time, does not make him as bad as some of you are making him out to be.

Im not saying that is what happened, and my personal opinion is more in line with your thinking, but I'll let everything play out. If DI was in the wrong here, I'm pretty confident he will be questioned and possibly charged. Not because he is a football player, but I have a feeling that ANYONE who is able to be identified as doing anything wrong will be prosecuted.

ONE of the biggest problems, yes, however, my list of biggest problems is rather large.

Hey, I'm all for accountability - whether a student, student athlete or non-student. I am also for fairness. If there is more to a story than a still pic or few second video relate and there are witnesses who can shed light on it then I'm going to encourage them to come forward. So if you have information beyond what you see on your screen sitting in your parent's basement, come forward. If not, then your assessment doesn't mean anymore than anyone else who wasn't there.

I think self righteous people who jump on their soapbox over every little immaterial thing are pretty high up there. But I will say I am pretty impressed with how many people on this site alone have such superior morals (never had a drunk hookup, never disobeyed a law, etc.)
