I'm hearing that Kansas and Iowa State are currently sitting atop the pecking order for Cheick Diallo | http://cbsprt.co/1ql3xsC

So in other words, he's going to Kentucky.

I noticed that connection as well. Even if it Cheick doesn't ultimately end up here the new hire seems to be a really nice resource in recruiting that Northeast market.

I legitimately thought Vaughn was picking us, hence the heart break. We have a shot with Diallo, but I'm not sure if it will ever be as big as the shot we had with Vaughn.

Yeah I'm not sure what everyone's problem is with competing at the highest level.

I think Vaughn has a lot to do with. I wasn't in meltdown mode when he didn't choose us, I was more "were your best option, you're an idiot."

They likely were, until Kentucky hired the assistant that was at Pitt. That assistant has the relationship with Diallo, hence the additional interest in UK.

    Re: Cheick Diallo

Our chances with Diallo, like Vaughn are legit because he's visited us, and we're still in his top schools.

The vast majority of these high rated guys that we claim to have "missed on" never visited us so we really were never in it with them.

Kind of like all the Ellenson chatter. Until he visits, you have to assume we are not in it.

    I will never doubt Fred.

But until we actually sign one of these top 10 'name brand' recruits my mind won't stop thinking we'll come in 2nd.

I hope Cheick starts a trend.

I'm going to pretend like Diallo sucks just so I don't get my hopes up. But secretly I hope we sign him.

Niang at the 3, that would be a different lineup than what were accustomed to. Makes me wonder if Diallo would come off the bench for McKay, or vice versa.

Never thought it would be possible a 5 star could come off the bench for us, but with seniors Niang and McKay it's not impossible.
