Great job out of our reserve bigs today

AT and CJ get 9 boards and 8 points between them. Cory seems to be learning how to play as an undersized PF, and the game is gradually slowing down for AT.

They had an excellent game! That's the way the bench should show up, not like it did against Texas Southern.

Its great to see CJ play so well for us lately. He is probably the guy who deserves it the most out of anyone else on the team. He just hustles and reminds me of Lucas Johnson of Illinois back in 2001.

Re: Great job out of our reserve bigs today

Listened to the radio post-game, and coach McD said Cory is playing and fitting in more comfortably now that they know what their player rotation off the bench will be, (with Vette gone). Said good things about CV, but said it makes a big difference at practice knowing who'll be there the rest of the year to contribute.

I've changed my thinking about Brian Petersen. He's not flashy, but has reduced his to's drastically, and seems to be learning how/when to get the ball to the bigs to give them better chances for good scoring opportunities.

I also think Diante Garrett need to see more time on the floor. When he's in there, he really makes things happen! Probably our best defender at guard, and the only one who can create and draw the defense off the dribble.

Re: Great job out of our reserve bigs today

Haluksa better not see the floor again until he can learn to stay in bounds when catching a pass. He might be a great contributor down the road but right now he looks like me playing volleyball. Overwhelmed, confused and no clue what I'm supposed to be doing.

And as stated, I don't think it is a coincidence that the offense has improved as Garrett's playing time has increased. This guy is good...

Haluska needs to have that breakout kind of game. He needs to get a few jumpers on a row to go down, and he'll be fine. We are going to need him this year to provide some outside shooting. Anyone who saw the Cap City league knows he can do it.

Re: Great job out of our reserve bigs today

Nice win last night. I agree about Haluska that he needs a break out game. I saw him play at Cap League and was very impressed by his athleticism and shooting. When he shoots the jumper he elevates...also, I thought he was by far the best shooter on the floor...3's kept dropping. Seems like a good kid and hustles when playing Defense. Hope he gets out of his funk here soon.

If other guys like Diante, Peterson, and Wesley step up Haluska won't have to put in the position where he needs to contribute, and that's what I'm hoping for.

people should quit comparing players as to what they did in the cap city league and talk about how they play in practice and in games. The cap city league is relaxed and more or less a poor mans version of street ball

A three pointer is a three pointer. It's the same shot, it shouldn't matter what league he's playing in.

Everybody's rep was reformulated a while ago and it's a smaller number but within the same ratio to other members. It was in an attempt to lessen the spread.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
