I also have not heard one complaint from one Michigan State fan that they had to go to Spokane......and then New York.

Too easy to put on the Captain Hindsight goggles after the fact.

In 2001, we were closer to Boise than any of the other teams playing there, and it would have been a hike for any of the #2 seeds that year. If we'd advanced, the only team in that entire region closer to Anaheim was the #1 seed (Stanford), and they deserve to play closer to home than the #2 seed.

This is not something worth complaining about.
Can I complain about the sites for next year yet? Looks like ISU just has to be one of the top two teams in the Midwest.

How sweet would Omaha be for a first round location? That place would be rocking with Cardinal & Gold if we were playing there. Come on BDJ! Let's make that happen!

But forget all of that. How does Kentucky or Louisville's selection for a potential local matchup in the sweet 16 equate to the committee screwing ISU?
I'm just saying... if you don't think that the selection committee is looking at the possibility of certain teams advancing and where they would play you are crazy. Of all the teams in that region that could have made it to MSG there are only 2 teams that could have played a virtual home game there... UCONN and Nova. Conveniently the bracket was set up that if they played to their seed one of the two of them was going to make it there. Similarly... Kentucky a highly talented team for an 8 seed was given a gift being put up against Wichita State and thus getting a virtual home game in Indy. Do you think the committee just randomly threw Kentucky in that region and Louisville ended up there too? Who would draw more fans to MSG? Nova or UCONN or any of the other teams that could have potentially ended up in MSG? Who would draw more fans to Indy? Kentucky or Louisville or any of the other teams that could have potentially ended up at Lucas Oil Stadium? The selection committee isn't stupid and there is more then just setting up good or "fair" matchups in the NCAA Tournament. Sure it has to do with matchups but you can't discount the fact that the NCAA is looking to have these venues sold out for these games and conveniently they set some of the brackets up to make sure that is what happened.

Thanks for bringing this thread back on track
From post 251 til yours, I felt I had opened a thread about seeding and where games should be played and got confused.

Wonder if we will get a visit the next couple of weeks from this kid.

    Re: Bryce Dejean-Jones

I saw him against Arizona do exactly what Kane loves to do. Iso and go to work.
    He is a good fit.

he comes and its a fricking dog fight for starters next year
The only for sure starters in my book are:
    Morris
    Hogue
    Niang

These guys would fight for the last two. may depend on what the other team has. So we may go small or big etc.
    Nader
    Mcay
    Long
    BDJ

The thing I like is we have nice talent off the bench.
