If you think about the last two years, it is not that much kool-aid. It would be nice to get the luck that many teams have in reaching the FF, but at this point we would stand a good chance if we could just avoid bad luck. What if we get in the tournament and it is UConn that is without Daniels? Someday, and in the mean time we will keep getting better.

    Re: Bryce Dejean-Jones

We should be excited about next year!

Ejim's roll in the offense is replaceable by Hogue. If we get BDJ, Kane's roll is replaced. We have all of the pieces back from last year, except everyone is 1 year better, older, stronger, bigger. And we have Nader and McKay, which if all of the talk is true about how good they are from practices then we should be in store for a great year next year. Our defense should get a lot better with McKay in there and a lot more depth to not have to worry about foul trouble. BDJ, Niang, and potentially Nader or even Hogue could be our mismatch shot creators to run the offense through and I just see everyone else filling in around them with more consistency.

What really intrigues me is his ability to pass the ball as well. Leading scorer and assist guy on UNLV. Being able to score AND pass is a matchup problem against anyone. And all of our guys are threats to score and pass.

How do teams try to defend that? Play one on one and get burnt. Double team and leave an open man and still get burnt.

Let the season play out and then we can make the decision. That being said, I think next season could turn out to be something special like this season.
In their defence this was the deepest they've made it since the clash of the titans with Northwestern State

Get this guy Fred. If we get him I think we will be as good as we were this year next season, but we get the 2 seed we deserved next time. Gotta keep this going. We can't always end up playing someone at home can we?

You can make that reference, but I'll counteract it. What was Iowa lacking?? They lost several games because they didn't lock down on defense late and a guy who was confident enough to take the game over and continue to score points. IIRC, we have Georges Niang, a guy who flourishes in these moments. So, I would say we can justify our predictions a little more. Naz Long will continue to work his butt off, along with Morris too. My guess is Hogue won't lose his energy and will be a huge asset next year.

As bad as the NCAA has screwed ISU on seeding and location in the Tournament since 2000... ISU should get to play every single NCAA Tourney game next season in Hilton.

How did we get screwed this year? 3 seed was right and we got the two weakest 1 and 2 seeds.

I'm not even sure it is Kool-Aid chugging at this point. This years team was an unfortunate injury away from an elite 8 or better. There were many in the media predicting it, not just ISU fans. It isn't a stretch to make the case that next year's team could be as good or better, even before any off-season additions. And really looking ahead, it would appear that 2015-2016 is set to be even better yet just based on who will be returning, and who knows what other pieces we may add by then.

It just doesn't seem like pure homerism to think we could have teams in the next few years that will have a chance to make final 4 type tournament runs. Oh Yeah!

Niang and Morris just followed him on Twitter. I think that's a good sign.
