    Morris
    Dejean-Jones
    Hogue
    Niang
    Mckay

    Nader
    Long
    Thomas
    Custer
    SDW

    Edozie
    Gibson

Could be the best team we've ever had....please get this guy.

Note....I said "could". Heck, we could've won it all this year with Niang IMO. Not saying we "should've". Jones is the missing piece to next year's team. Hope he chooses ISU.

I don't think Kentucky will land him. What 5th year senior wants to play with a bunch of high profile heady freshman?

    Re: Bryce Dejean-Jones

I would assume Bryce Dejean-Jones would have already declared for the NBA and talked to the Draft board to see where he sits by this point (ala Staten). So he could make a decision by this point in the process if the NBA was a serious consideration. Actually I think most thought was he would either take his fifth year or play overseas when he first anounced he wasn't going back to UNLV, so the NBA talk may be not be relevant.
Now if he wants to improve his chances at the NBA after this year, Playing for Fred may be the best option. Let's also note, this NBA draft has lost some luster at the top but, considered one of the deepest in years.

With that said, I'm going to contain my excitement until he announces for us, if he ever does. We've still got a lot of stiff competition out there. It isn't like we are fighting against the University of Montana's of the world for these guys anymore, but rather bluebloods many times.

    Re: Bryce Dejean-Jones

Watching some of the videos, he looks like a perfect replacement for Kane, although his game is not exactly the same. It would be interesting to see how Fred would utilize him. I think it would be a lot like Kane was used, except I don't think Dejean-Jones would ever be at the point. He would certainly be used to post up and create mis-matches though, and his ability to drive to the bucket is outstanding. What I liked about his drives is that in most cases, he tried to finish with a dunk instead of just laying it in. He is not a great percentage shooter, but we all know Fred can help guys with that. If he could get above 35 percent in 3 point shooting, that would be outstanding. Needs to work on his free throw shooting too, if he is going to drive as much as it appears he does.

He looks like he would be a perfect fit, but I'm not going to get too excited yet. I think it depends a lot on what Fred finds in his background. This is the second transfer for him. He was at USC at the same time as Maurice Jones, then transferred and sat out a year at UNLV. There might be more baggage there than what Fred wants to take on.

if a couple of guys go to the draft, they won't really have anyone at his position.

You mean one and done players who get drafted and make the Final Four or win national championships? Nope, can't understand the attraction.

As I have said, we need to get him on campus ASAP.

You disagree? That lineup and bench would be sick. Where's the weakness? Leadership, coaching and chemistry are already in place.

I don't know if that's all that far off though. That team could have some decent size on the perimeter and a shot blocker that we have haven't had in awhile. It has shooters, multiple creators and defensively, it will have length we haven't had as well as Monte who is as good defensively now as you need from a PG. That teams ceiling is very high. Higher than this years pretty easily. Now getting to that ceiling is a different deal but you are looking at two guys who started this year, albeit sparingly and in need, coming 8th of the bench and maybe not even coming off the bench.

    This is very important:

We have the potential to be better next year already, BDJ would just increase that potential.
