Were you not attached to Kane? Our "one and dones" just happen to be seniors.

Definitely agree with your point, though Kane pretty much hit the ground running, while I am pretty sure these freshmen had at least a little growing pains in the first part of the season.

I don't think it is really possible to be as attached to a one and done as it is a 4 year guy. Kane had a huge season, and helped this program to great things, but years from now I don't know that I will look back at him as fondly as an Ejim, or a Rashon Clark, or a Diante Garrett just because that attachment didn't grow over the course of several years.

I agree, but I'm still very sad to see him [Kane] go. Dont get wrong, losing Mel hurts, but I still remember Royce and his moments in Hilton, and I always will. I think its all a matter of perspective. Royce quenched our tourney drought, and Kane helped bring us further than we had been in 14 years (B12 tourney Championship, Sweet 16 Berth, possibly a top 10 ranking when all is said and done).

You mean like DeAndre Kane? Or Korie Lucious? Or Will Clyburn? Or Chris Allen? Or Royce White? Or Jake Anderson?

I 100% agree with this. KU fans will love Wiggins because he chose KU over everyone else. We will take a measure of pride seeing his success. But the players that will live in the hearts of fans are the players that we got to watch develop through their careers over several years. The guys that tend to be the favorites of fans are the guys that weren't uber-talents but who worked hard, overcame obstacles and did more than anyone ever imagined.

Darnell Jackson is my favorite Jayhawk of all time. From a guy who could barely get on the floor, overcoming horrible family tragedies and capping his senior year by being a key cog in a national title team. Wiggins could have averaged 40 points a game and would not have ranked higher than Jackson on my list. I still love Wiggins, he was a special player but you're right. The guys that stay are the guys that are truly the lifeblood of the program and who are the fan favorites.

That's funny, never really thought of it that way. Maybe we can call Iowa State One and Done U. ISU probably has had almost as many one year players as Kentucky.

Contrary to popular belief, players can develop in the NBA.
When Durant was in college you could tell he was going to be something special. There has not been a player since in the conference played the way he did.

Its a player by player deal. .

Kane is different than those before him, IMO. What this team did was rare for ISU basketball. He will be remembered different than the one season guys before him at ISU, because of that. He showed up and delivered.

Wiggins really didn't win anything Kansas isn't used to. If this team would have went to the final four then he would be remembered different than the player that didn't show for the round of 32 game.

Well, four of those six were on campus for two years. That changes things.
