Again I ask, if the owner and league really want three years, why would the player's union, representing current, not prospective player's, care enough about that extra year to battle the owner's over it? If anything it seems like an easy concession to make in order to push for a greater revenue percentage or something else.

Because the players they are holding out will soon be union members. And the way these negotiations go, no side ever wants to just give the other side all they want, even if they get something for it somewhere else. Stupid, but reality. The NBA Owners have the Players by the short hairs as they proved in the lockouts. They aren't giving up anything, just take, take, take. They have the bigger bank account and can better survuive a work stoppage. They will get what they want and do not need to sacrifice any share of revenue to get it.

I know they're entirely different players, but I'm really happy we have Morris -- and every other player coming back next year. I just hope the expectations don't become a burden.

When the hell did I say anything about summer classes?

I believe my post was in response to surly, who stated "i remembering him saying that one reason he liked ku was he didn't have to go to class during the summer. "

I apparently had bad aim and clicked on the wrong message. My bad. I was referring to the resident K-Stater surly's comments about summer classes for Wiggins.

I would think they would like it just the way it is. Yes, Marcus won't leave for the NBA after one year but Wiggins helps KU sell future NBA players to KU. They already have somebody signed that will play Wiggins spot and may not have the athletic ability of Wiggins but Oubre is very athletic and a better shooter. KU's issue was at the 1 spot, so Kane would have benefited KU more than anybody else.

I don't think so. He may not have all the intangibles yet, but he has the physical tools to be a very good pro.

    Re: wiggins announcement ...

I live in KC, so there are plenty of KU homers here. It'll be interesting to see what the legacy is of Wiggins and Embiid. I couldn't imagine getting attached to a player after only 6 months or so just to see them go on.
