This "you don't develop a killer instinct" stuff is nonsense. That is one thing players develop all the time as they get older and more confident. The best example I can think of is Durant. He came out after his freshman year and has been great ever sense, but only in the last couple of years have you really seen him get his swagger and confidence. The same can be said for Paul George. Contrary to popular belief, players can develop in the NBA.

Yep. If he comes back and has another back injury it's going to cost him a lot of money.

And it's funny Wiggins is even having a press conference.

I think he said something of that sort before the season even started. And to try to put it into proper context, I don't think he said he was excited that it was his final year in school so that he was done with it, I think there was more of a positive connotation, that he was excited for his last year of school since all along he's said he's 1 and done.

Randle is the most pro ready but he has a lower ceiling than the other 2, Wiggins has the most potential of all these guys. Especially when you consider he's a year younger than the others, that said, there's no Lebron James type guy in this group in this group.

That was a major knock on Lebron early in his career too. Would be tough to develop a killer instinct as an 18 year old when everyone around you treats you like a god.

    Re: wiggins announcement ...

Wiggins does have a killer instinct. The problem is he doesn't have good handles at all yet. I almost single handedly won that WV game. Increased his scoring when Embiid went down and always wants to guard the beat offensive player.

He has elite physical skills. Kid is going to be awesome. This is his first year playing a guard position as he played PF in HS.

Parker is the most pro ready and he will be a guy who can put up points immediately but defense is lacking

Randle looks more like 6'8 and that will be his problem in the NBA along with his bad defense. He has struggled against length. But he rebounds very well.

I think Parker and Wiggins are stars and Randle is just a solid pro.
Embiid will be a star as well.

    It was nothing.

In a November interview for ESPN The Magazine's college basketball preview issue, Wiggins, when asked what he's enjoyed most since he arrived at Kansas, indicated he would spend only one season in college.
"I would say just being able to enjoy my last year of school," Wiggins said.

I agree. While Parker and Wiggins both had their struggles they both would have plays that would make you say "wow". Some of the shots Wiggins was hitting against WVU were just unstoppable. Randle doesn't have that wow factor. He plays hard and is very tough, but he lacks a counter-move in the post and doesn't have that great size.

For Wiggins, I think his best case scenario is D-Wade and worst case is a Rudy Gay type. For Parker I think best case scenario is Melo and worst case is Beasley. For Randle I think the best case scenario would be David West and worst case would be Anthony Bennett.

Wiggins has more potential than Jabari, Gordon, Randle, and Embiid at this point. Self will not be smiling losing two of top three stars to NBA. Oh well, he needs to go find some more bluechippers like RV from UNLV each year. He also needs to coach better in tournaments.

Frankly, Kane did more for our team than Wiggins did for KU.

I just don't get how it wouldn't be hard to say if you wanna go to the NBA outta highschool, go. If you wanna go to college....2 to 3 year minimum.

Meh...I almost think the 1 year year minimum is an advantage for a school like ISU. Let KU and all the blue bloods get the 1 and dones. By the time they develop their game they'll be in the NBA. If there is a 2 year or more minimum, they will be much more of a threat to ISU's big 12 regular season title hopes.

I'd even say that Foster did more for KSU than Wiggins did for KU. I honestly thought KSU wouldn't be an NCAA team after the loss of Rodriguez - but Foster, man, that guy was impressive.

Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"
