So what did everyone get charged? $200?

Re: Tickets through ISU -- Mysterious

I am guessing some of the anger/assumptions made in these posts came from other Cyclone fans who are season ticket holders or attend many games, yet they cannot get tickets through ISU for the tournament games. Then you have company employees who jump on the bandwagon at the end of the year getting to order through ISU. I'm not saying the system is wrong but it is rather frustrating.

I'm tempted to call them and ask if I can buy tickets.

CC member, not a season ticket holder. Maybe JP will update sales soon?

That's what I got charged. I got mine at the 2:30 release as I'm a lower level donor. They only had the cheapies available by then.

I'd assume they will release any leftovers to public if CC members/season tix holders don't buy them all. My guess would be they are sold out though.

You would think they would release some info today one way or the other. Definitely need all the fans we can get there.

I was hoping they would give students a better deal than that. Instead of sticking us up with the lower level donors.

Sorry, but you've got the wrong guy. I did see that post too. All I can say is it's a coincidence. I'm a huge fan of the Cyclones - I don't have to prove this to anyone. I must say that being new to this board is quite a disappointment. I've always steered clear of social networking sites, don't have facebook, don't have a twitter account - yet I thought being a part of a local social network with people who share a common interest would be fun.... might even make a friend or two. Was this a mistake?

I've lived in Ames for 15 years, my kids go to Gilbert - in fact my son is in the same class as the Hoiberg twins. I live in Northridge Heights, anyone north of Bloomington is in the Gilbert School system. Great schools, btw, new middle school, new high school... heck they're even going to have a tennis team next year.

Anyone remember the grubsteak on Lincoln way in the 80's? How about the Dairy Queen where the new fighting burrito is now. Remember the horseradish sauce you could get at the Hardee's on Welch.. long before it became Battle's BBQ?

All of you d bag doubters can take your whines, accusations and flames elsewhere. For the great guys on this board who stuck up for me... give me the time and day you'll be at Foley's and I'll buy you a beer. I'll be the fat guy with the hot wife and the two kids. We'll all be full of smiles, donned in ISU Cyclone attire and ready to celebrate being in NYC for such an epic event. The rest of you can go to hell.

I wish you wouldn't have posted this. You dont have to prove anything to these clowns. A couple people in particular on this board think that since they have 50k posts that they can be the CF bullies. That's why I don't post very often, because some dbag might rip me for something ridiculous such as this.

I would take you up on your foleys offer but I'm just a broke *** college student stuck in Ames. Have fun in NYC and go cyclones!

Here's a breakdown of what went wrong with your introduction to cyclonefanatic, if you're willing to listen:

Login ID of dugdathug probably is going to put people on alert right up front. The internet is full of tough guys hiding behind a keyboard, so calling yourself a thug in your login ID is going to send up red flags to people immediately. When I read your thread about your ticket problems...dugdathug pretty much made me think..."who's this doo$h?"

Not many posts prior to starting a thread about your troubles with the ticket office...many people on here interact with the ticket office regularly and don't have issues....strike two....not saying that if you have problems with the ticket office that it's a 'you' problem, but given a lack of history, you aren't getting the benefit of the doubt.

The phrase "escalating to a supervisor" in your post about the ticket office...given your lack of 'street cred' here (for lack of a better term), can come off as the 'I want to talk to your supervisor' guy...the guy who feels like every time his every needs aren't met immediately that he should be granted a *whish* free pass to escalate a situation to someone more fitting of his high stature....there are people on here who give a good amount of money to the university, yet don't feel like they deserve a special treatment.

The overall situation...ISU in the sweet 16 in New York City...not controlled by the ticket office or ISU, or the Big 12, made me, probably others believe that...maybe things won't be completely seamless...it's a fluid situation, no one knows everything they should know, so when you throw a wrinkle like "well, I'm not a donor, but my company is, even though you have no way of knowing that I'm really employed by that company"...it's not hard to understand how people didn't empathize with your situation, and given the now apparent similar scenario where a UCONN fan played the same game, probably for good reason.

And now, despite the fact that you've shown yourself to be either a true ISU fan or someone who has done a heck of a lot of homework (and I'm guessing it's the first), you're still a whole ton of standoffish, and kind of still coming across as the 'I'm a big shot, y'all just aren't listening' guy. I'm sure that in your real world life, maybe you are a big shot, but here, you've not proven yourself. You're on your way to proving yourself as a blustering whiner (if I can be a bit rude, but straightforward).

Perhaps the flaw is that you haven't been exposed to the internet message board double anonymity...first, we're all just a login ID unless we choose to reveal ourselves otherwise...so your persona here is what you've built here...not what company you're a partner to (because anyone can claim all sorts of stuff on the internet), so you can't just act like you do when you're a shot caller in real life...and second, because we have this anonymity, people tend to be less deferential and downright skeptical of people claiming status when they show up out of the blue.

So, yeah, you did kinda get the "how 'bout you go **** yourself" treatment on your introduction to this little corner of the interwebs, and if your story is true...maybe that's unfair, but part of it came from the way your persona was introduced to this community, possibly thru no indictable fault of your own (other than not understanding message board culture...and shouldn't be a knock against anyone, really). But if you want to join this community, there are some things that will make you fit in, and some that will make you an outcast. It's up to you whether you want to fit in or not...and before that sounds like a threat..."I didn't fit in on an internet message board" probably won't hurt anyone's resume...might actually help, to be honest. I have a life outside of this that's much more important than this one here (not that that's a huge accomplishment), but I find the community here to be a source of information, camaraderie, sometimes well deserved humility, and a break from the other life I lead. That's not for everyone.

So, if you want to stay and hang, that's cool, but maybe keep a little of the above in mind, and don't be surprised/offended when people disagree with you. Because someone will ALWAYS disagree with you on the intenet.

How does ISU know whether you're some scalper or a Uconn fan trying to exploit an ISU account to get access to the limited supply of ISU tickets that they have? I've always found the ISU ticket office to be very cooperative, so I'm not sure what to think of your story.

Do what I did. Call the Iowa State ticket office 1-888-478-2925, tell them you work for a company that is a donor and has season passes but that the usual company account contact isn't going. Offer your own credit card in replacement and bingo, 2 more tix for husky fans, 2 less for the cyclones.
