As far as I've read this board over the last few days, UConn fans have been coming on, complimenting ISU talking about uconn in detail and using data to support their claims.

So much so in fact, that you guys have started to joke about us citing ken pom.

I take that as a compliment.

Let me clue you in on why kenpom doesn't get traction here: Iowa fans cited kenpom stats obsessively here. Iowa's team was a failure.

Citing kenpom as your basis for things lumps your arguments in with theirs.

We've seen what our offense does to the best of defenses. It's doing that again Friday, because lighting teams up is just what we do.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Also, we've been down a couple UConn roads before. Some of you guys are decent right now. Maybe you stay that way, maybe not. We pretty much know where this ends up.
Not to mention the fact that you are all coming over starting new threads saying the exact same things. Is there a template on Boneyard you are following? I am not disabling my adblock for your site, sorry.

And again...and this isnt an individual shot at UCONN fans....why come on this board at all?

Would never occur to me to go to the boneyard to discuss the game. I personally dont care what they think...and i mean that respectfully. Youre either getting confirmation from the opposition that we are good..or youre going to get blasted with homerism (just as they would here)...so not sure what you get out of that.

Perspective of fans who have watched a team in more detail than any talking head out there possibly could.

And I like the occasional barbs too. I'll play it any way you guys want.

And, more importantly, killing time until the game. This is the longest 3-4 days of the year after selection sunday to opening Thursday.

UConn fan's have had a lot of practice on how to best kill this week

You might have unrealistic expectations on an opponents message board. Kenpom, conference bravado, message board smack won't matter once the ball goes in the air. Both teams have peaked going into the tournament and we are down one of our key players, so the numbers aren't necessarily indicative of how teams are playing right now. Both fan bases are excited about their teams. I have no idea who will win and the odds makers seem to agree.

Personally I'm scared to death of how effective Amida Brimah looked in the Villanova game. This is where we are going to miss Georges impact. Georges could draw someone like Brimah away from the basket with his 3 point shooting. We have struggled to score inside against a shot blocker like Brimah. Without Georges, that is going to be even tougher.

Did you see the Kane vs. Napier shot chart over on the yard? It's pretty interesting. Don't know if it originated here.

No I haven't, but I pray our shot chart won't resemble Villanova's against your defense. If we get baited into shooting 31 threes I won't like our chances. Unless of course we hit 14 to 15 of them :)

I added the link, have a look. Earlier in the week a lot of you guys talked about giving Bazz the mid range. If you do, can you make sure you give it to him on the left side of the floor?

    Re: A UCONN Fan's perspective

Listen we can discuss the UCONN games with their fan base until we are blue in the face. One thing UCONN fans can not assess is the power and impact of Johnny. Find that on kenpom......

I'm sorry UConn fans for starting the Ken Pom rankings are horse sh** comments, it's my fault, I apologize. Can we be friends again, have pizza dates and trade basketball cards?

.04 seconds to go to mom smack.....ok...i like this guy.

Ya i dunno...shot charts are nice, but realistically...can you guys win if Napier goes cold? Im not sure i can see how. But..i havent watched UCONN but maybe 4 times this year...and sparingly.

To be fair, something about our style of play this year does not play nice with Ken Pom. I don't think it's a bad ranking, but we appear to be the anti-Wisconsin where Pomeroy is concerned.
