What was said by the Announcer

I'm curious what the announcer for the Okie State game said. He kept apologizing and then finally his colleague finally said you're good or something like that. Almost like he was pleading for his job on the air.

What? Are you telling me that people from Poland aren't called Pollocks? What are they then? Poles? That sounds absurd. But I jest, that's pretty bad.

It was "Hack-a-Polack." Not correcting spelling here or anything (since either is OK), just trying to add the link.

You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man, Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. You feel it. You feel it. Its real. You feel it on the court. Its a tough feeling to explain. Its a vibration. It gets you going.

    He paused.

    Its magic.

Wack a Pole would have been so much better, and also politically correct.

What does a carving up a delicious piece of the marine ecosystem have to do with the NCAA tournament?

Thanks! The way he was apologizing was making me feel uncomfortable, but I understand why now.

Huh, I didn't even know that was deragatory. I thought it was just a term for a polish person similar to saying American.

Disclaimer: I don't believe I've ever actually said the word before.

I think it comes from connotation. For example, "Hey, heard this Pollock joke?"

So if Bryce Cotton sets a nice screen and the announcer calls him a cotton picker do you think the announcer will get fired?
