He averaged 13.6 ppg and 8.6 rpg in a good league. Not to mention we will use him differently than Temple did. He's 6'9" and can jump. Pretty sure we'll figure out a way to utilize him, especially to go along with Niang who can distribute as well as almost any big man in the college game.

He could end up being better in the Big12, you never know.

    1. 6'9 is definitely above average height in Iowa State's terms.
    2. In the first game against UCONN he had 14pts on 5-7 shooting. 0 boards which is strange.
In the second game he scored 10pts on 4-7 shooting, 6 boards, 2 assists.. Seems like he could've been in foul trouble both games.. That's not exactly shutting him down.
    3. Even though he didn't rebound in the 2 games that you saw (small sample) going through his games he put up double digit boards more often than not.

I got a chuckle out of the "average height and weight" thing.

You're saying that as far as 6' 9" fellows go, he's average?

Is this another way of saying "slightly built"?

He wasn't playing for Fred Hoiberg. Hoiberg's repuation speaks for itself. The worst transfer we have gotten was a role player on a NCAA tourney team, and the next worst was honorable mention all Big 12 if I remember right, although all but Booker have been incredible successes.

I do appreciate the insight though.

How many other options does Temple have?

Um, I think Booker was pretty successful. Really came on at the end of the year.

He did fine but I wouldn't call him an incredible success. He was a good role player like I said.

Especially this quote: "Fricken Iowa State will pounce on any transfer they can get. Can't Fred Hoiberg find any high school recruits to build into a winner or does he just have to raid the transfer market every single season? Seriously. Hoiberg has been building his team through transfers - the immediate eligibility variety more often than not - the past few years. Them and Oregon, it's like they can't find many good high school prospects so they have to wait to see if guys pan out in college and then start recruiting."

That last sentence is my favorite part. Doesn't he see the brilliance in that? Obviously, we need high school players, and Fred has gone after them, however, when spring comes around and the high school players have been picked over, doesn't it make some sense to look at short term, proven players, who will make an impact immediately, rather than borderline talent players who might make an impact in 2-3 years? Other fanbases always talk about the "risk" Fred is taking with transfers, but in reality, from a talent perspective, he's actually going the safe route, by grabbing guys that he knows can produce.
Also, I believe that the balance of our transfers are not the 'one-and-done' sort, but the more traditional types of transfers with multiple years to play, or have one year but still have to sit out a year.

There seems to be a very large contingent of high level college coaches that seem to disagree with you.

I think he could be a lot like Booker, with the hope that he really takes off under Hoiberg and becomes closer to a 6'9" Ejim. He is not a banger, which is why we should be appealing to him,

For the people comparing him to booker, undercutting him big time.
Booker came off the bench at Southern Illinois and averaged only 5 points a game before coming to ISU. This guy should be much better.

I agree. It's ridiculous to compare someone that averaged 14 & 9 to Booker. Booker probably averaged more fouls per minute than points or rebounds.
