I already miss the like function.

GMac just wasn't going to work out here and we actually got paid for him to leave. Made way for The Mayor to return home.

    Re: McDermott

I think if this had happened the 1st year after Greg left, or even the year we went to the tourney with Royce, there probably would have been some hard feelings and heckling from our fans. It wasn't clear at that time how much the program would recover from that stretch or how long it would take.

At this point it's more like running into an old friend you had a falling out with a long time ago. You're never going to be best buddies again, but you're not mad anymore, it's nice to see them, and you're both happy the other one is doing well.

I'm very thankful for Greg. If he didn't suck so bad, we might not have Fred right now.

I mean, look at Iowa. They just stopped paying Lick, THIS YEAR. We didn't have that problem. I'll thank GMac for the way he handled his exit, and respect him for it.
    I feel the same way.

I can't imagine there are any "fun" tuition checks. I'm sure my parents rue the day I decided I didn't like any of the Minnesota state schools.

Does Perrault still do his Creighton schtick?

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

Greg was and continues to be a class act. It did not work out for him in Ames, but has at Creighton and am happy for him. As others have noted, it's rare when it works out great for both schools and his moving on certainly did.

Both Greg and ISU are in better places now, worked out for the best for both sides.

    Re: McDermott

The only ill will I have towards McD is the fact that I was in school for the last 3 years of his tenure. Unbearable basketball.

But, I have met him and spoke with him a few times and he was always easy to talk too, so he has that going for him. And his son, I guess.

Thatís in a 100 percent rate of speed at executing your responsibility ó whether itís a fit, whether itís a tackle, whether itís a route, whether itís a cut-off block. Everybody needs a little bit more urgency in coaching and playing.Ē

Speaking of Iowa, I think it is interesting that Iowa finished at #66 after being pegged as a possible Final Four in Jan. Yes, they made the tourney on tru Tv on a Tuesday. Then they were beat by a twenty win team.

That's what's most amusing about the whole deal. The same thing might happen to us however. Some have now pegged us to hit the final 4 and that will probably end badly for us(hope I'm wrong!).
