No kidding. Baylor gets all the luck. First they get to the elite 8 twice by facing nobody. Now they get an easy early path by getting 2 games at home to start the tournament.

The thing about Creighton is they have several outside shooters. I think Doug will be the zone-breaker at the high post. I'm assuming that Daddy McD will use Fred's game plan with Doug playing the part of Georges.

I haven't watched kNU play this year more than a few minutes, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Scott Drew has enough timeouts for this one.

The only thing that will hurt Creighton is that there was a pretty good sized chunk of Creighton fans that did a basketball vacation to see them play in the Big East tourney in New York City. Odds are that none of those folks are ponying up for another road trip. I know a dozen people here at work that went to the Big East tourney. None are going to San Antonio.

Baylor isn't going to beat Creighton, no matter where they play it. Baylor's silly zone will leave guys open on the perimeter and Creighton will drop 15 threes on them before Drew thinks about switching defenses. Look for Ethan Wragge to have a good day as well as McBuckets. Can't guard them both tight.

This. I will be rooting for Baylor but expect Creighton to win going away with the 3 ball.

Baylor's zone at the end of they year was better than the one Providence had success with against the Bluejays. Will Creighton be able to adjust?

Re: Baylor plays Nebraska in San Antonio

I think saying that Creighton shoots 3's well so they'll beat the zone is an oversimplification. It's not a 2-3 where you'll have space around the arc all day. Creighton will have to work it inside first to open up the 3's, or they're going to have to shoot the hell out of the corners. It took ISU 3 halves to figure it out, and even then you could see Hoiberg having to do a lot of directing from the sideline. And I have no idea how Creighton handles Baylor's bigs on D, or how they'll be able to keep the rebounding numbers close.

Re: Baylor plays Nebraska in San Antonio

Providence isn't the first team to play zone against Creighton. Some times the shots just don't drop. They went 8-30 from deep, a huge anomaly for them. They average 10-24 from deep. They have virtually unlimited range, so I'll take that game simply as an outlier. The big thing that cost them was that they didn't rebound as well as they normally do. Typically it is easier to get offensive rebounds against a zone and McDermott said he was most disappointed in their performance in that area against Providence. Having the game against Baylor, who play just like a team they just faced, likely helps Creighton to make the necessary adjustments. Just my opinion. I will freely admit that I have a natural bias against Drew because I think he is a terrible coach and that his team's natural talent sometimes wins DESPITE him.

Definitely cheering for Baylor on this one, but it could be interesting if both Creighton and Nebraska won. They'd all get pretty confused deciding which bandwagon they're supposed to be riding on...

That was also my first thought on this matchup. I've since heard that Miles has done a good job of breaking down the collapse against OS and convinced the team that they can learn from it and prove that they are better than that. I think that he will have the Huskers ready to play and that the game will come down to the last couple of possessions.

Wait a minute. Fans of a team expect a win? Whoa.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
