    This years team compared to...

The Elite 8 team of 1999-2000.

    Thoughts?

Would need to make a Final Four to be a discussion. When K Mart got injured going into the NCAAs Fizer was effectively the best player in the nation.

That team would have won the national championship if we hadn't had to play a road game against Michigan St. If we'd have gotten the #1 seed we deserved, we would have faced them on a neutral court and would have beaten them (IMO). This team COULD get that far, but have a lot to prove yet to have that conversation.

This team has less talent, but a better coach.

This is just ******* ridiculous. I can live with the 2001 comparisons, but come on.

If Royce would have stayed, we may not have gotten Kane.

Fizer was probably the second best player in the nation, but it's not crazy to say that's how good Royce would be as a junior. Shows how things have changed that Fizer even played for us as a junior. Silly that most don't want to hang his jersey because he played 3 years and left as a #4 pick. What players stay in college 3 years and then get drafted #4? That just doesn't exist anymore.

Don't understand the need to measure dicks here. They are 2 different team in 2 different eras of basketball.

Sit back, pop a cold one, and enjoy it.

Also, a lot of counting chickens before hatched...

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Unless we win the National Title, I'm taking Tinsley and Fizer.

So far this team has looked decent for two games in a row--that hasn't happened too much.

    Let's see what's up in 3 weeks.
