ISU played pretty well after the first 7 minutes or so. Only down 7 at half.

    Re: ISU vs Baylor

The refs are allowing "massive collisions," but then call a very light touch foul on Moody. Come on, Baylor doesn't need that kind of help. If they called that foul against Baylor, they would all foul out.

Brian Enterline has returned to his usual self. Knew the last game was a fluke.

    Re: ISU vs Baylor

Sims is an annoying player. We are just letting them run the clock out with a 10+ lead, but she drives hard for a shot.

70-54 final. The defense was good enough to win this game, but we were killed on the boards.

That and Baylor getting to the line 10 extra shots. They are more athletic and more aggressive. I don't think the rebounding was a lack of effort as much as a lack of size.

Once again great speeches by the three seniors. To be able to stand there and deliver those words of emotion and reflection in front of all those fans says so much about our women's basketball culture here. Tremendous character and behavior standards that are cultivated and displayed year in and year out.

For a moment, I thought BU might show some class and just let the clock go. Obviously, I was delusional for that moment. ISU teams would even take the shot-clock turnover in those instances. BU even had a second chance to make the "right" choice, as Sims missed on the drive, rebounded, and she could have dribbled out the clock without any violation. I don't care if it's hardwired into them, there is always a choice.

The refs, too, calling the foul on her putback. Very fitting for how they called the game. They just could not hold their whistles on Baylors end.

It would not have taken much for ISU to have kept the game very close. Lots of little things that added up.

It was too bad to let Davis have a great game. It may be the difference in frosh of the year selection vs. Seanna.

    CONGRATS AND THANKS SENIORS!

I think our defense had us out of position for rebounding. Lack of size then mattered more. There was some lack of effort to get into position. Plus sometimes, if our defender would have just jumped to go after a rebound, they would crashed into us (enough to get the call). Sometimes we essentially stood there and they went over us.

The other frustrating aspect of the defensive plan was giving wide open shots to Davis and a couple others. I guess they found the holes in the zone. But sometimes we had no one even look at the player taking a short jumpshot. Yes, BU made the shots (and we missed plenty of open ones), but they were almost like free ones.

Our defense was good, but could have been much better.
