    Unhappy Doc Sadler concerns?

With the breaking news this morning that Donnie Tyndall has been fired from Tennessee after just one season due to upcoming major NCAA violations from his time at Southern Miss. He's expected to get some significant penalties once the NCAA is done with it's investigation.

My concern is how this is going to affect Doc Sadler at Southern Miss. Looks like he's going to lose two sophomores (one is his second leading scorer this year) that took financial benefits. On top of that, I wonder if the institution is penalized from postseason play for a year or two because of this, which would royally suck for him.

I'm just thinking out loud right now.

PS - Doc, if you're reading this and don't want to go through this...there's always an open seat on the bench for you here at Iowa State.

what seat is open? Don't think the defensive stats were better last year than this. Throw Diallo and McKay on the court and there is plenty of defense for Hoiball to win with.

Doc isn't leaving a head coaching job, period. He may come back if he's fired, but I doubt it.

Yeah, highly doubtful he'll ever come back, but just feel bad for the dude having to put up with that crap after just one season.

Ouch, hope he knew what he was potentially getting into when he took the job.

    Re: Doc Sadler concerns?

Why does the NCAA punish Southern Miss? If a team has to cheat and still can't win, isn't their individual knowledge of themselves cheating but remaining failures enough?

    Re: Doc Sadler concerns?

Doc took the job being aware of the possibility of NCAA violations coming. I fully expect the AD to stand behind him (his hire) through the troubles and see how it plays out once they are over. Now if the AD is also relieved of duties as a result of the pending findings then he could be fired by his replacement.

    Re: Doc Sadler concerns?

They should do more to punish the coaches. More moratoriums from coaching should do the trick.

I hope Larry Eustachy left a fridge stocked with some Natty light. Doc might need a drink.

    No. See football, ISU.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I'm pretty sure he knew this was coming, how could he not really?

    He's been around the block.

Southern Miss will get penalized and the end result with be that Doc struggles, the fans get restless, and he is fired.
