Where did I insult the game?

All I said was that I would never attend any games.

    Re: Fans and Student Section

I went four years, and never attended a women's basketball game. I even had a women's basketball player come on to me or at least demonstrate that she wanted to be my friend when I would see her in the weight room working out. I passed up the opportunity to get to know her better and I highly regret that. That was many years ago and she may have been as tall or taller than I, so perhaps I saw that as daunting. I became a women's basketball fan around 15 years ago. I should say, I have always liked women's basketball, just didn't see it as a priority when I went to ISU. Men's basketball was nearly as bad, only attended 2-3 games. I went to football, and wrestling. Strange, how times change you.

    Re: Fans and Student Section

    My 2 cents:

    1. I thought the attendance was pretty good, especially considering the won-loss record of last 6-8 games.
    2. My wife has commented that the womens team isn't as fun to watch as in past. I think this is due to our offensive agenda which seems more like watching a chess match. Our offensive plan is the result of playing guards and Hallie playing the post when she's really a forward.
    3. Wining cures most everything.

    Re: Fans and Student Section

I guess for me it is a matter of priority. I'm a fairly busy person and have managed to make six women's game this year. With football you have to have a season ticket anymore for a seat, once you've spent the money you make sure you go. WBB you can easily walk-up and get a good seat, thus the priority is lower. Also weeknight games are very hard for me so I don't buy season tickets. When I was a student many decades ago I went to all FB games and only a handfull of men's BB and a few baseball games, no WBB at all, didn't even know we had it.

    Re: Fans and Student Section

I have had season tickets for 14 yrs now. I enjoy the game because for a while it was a better game then the mens. Most students are not into WBB and those that come do so for the prizes they could win. As to those who do not attend games but like to come on here and post negative posts, they will always be there. Some people just like to see their name on here. What bothers me is the number of season ticket holders that have great seats that either do not show up (three seats near me have only been used one time and the two right next to me have never been used) or leave with 4-5 minutes left in the game.

I've tried to watch women's basketball but I just cant. When ISU gets to the NCAA tournament I'll probably make my way through a game, but otherwise it's just too hard to watch. That's no slight on our team at all, just in general...it's unwatchable.

I realize this is from your perspective, but thousands of fans disagree. The women do some things that I find much more fun to watch than the men and vice-versa. I appreciate the differences in the game and in how they are coached. I guess you could say diversity is a good thing!
