I would think they'll get a shot at some decent seats in the SEZ, but like anything else, it's going to depend on giving level as well. I would not be a bit surprised to see a reseating, but of course we are always at the mercy of the endless deal the AD gave people back in the 70s to get the stadium built.

What kind of deal do the original stadium donors from the 70's get? Are they allowed to pass this deal down to future generations or once they die is it over? Since the stadium is now almost 40 years old most of these people should be getting up there in age. How many of them are there and how many seats?

He/she said they were playing soccer, they said nothing about playing a sport.

There are some people milking/playing that system pretty well where they had a family member that donated and that person may not be alive or may not go anymore

My bad, I didn't specify. I was playing intramural football on the old soccer field! I would never play soccer!

That may be true that some of those contributors have passed away but I am alive (61 years old) and bought one of those seats for life. My original one seat (direcectly in front of The Jack Trice Club) required a $1000 one-time contribution per seat; I believe the Club Section seats required a one-time contribution of $4000 / seat and the other seat-back seats were less than $1000 / seat. Subsequently, I increased my seats to three but I have been in the Director's Club for donations ($2500 per year) for many years. I have heard that some of the original contributors have not contributed since the one-time contribution.

I agree that the benefit (seat location) should have expired after probably 10 years but ISU cannot revoke it. A few years ago, the Athletic Department required I believe payment by check to try to find any payments not under the same name as the original contributor.

I applaud you for continuing to donate, especially at that level, but man, anybody that's sat in a seat for 30 plus years having never donated another penny is a sad fan and is truly doing a diservice to ISU. Just a complete shame the AD even had to stoop to that level to get the stadium built.

I have heard that when the individual who donated dies then it is done. Now if a corporate entity made the donation and bought the tickets then that never dies unless the corporation folds. They were "lifetime" donations. So when life ends, the benefit ends.

Smart move by the donor. Dumb move by the Athletic Department.
