Excited to share a new rare pic of Jack Trice in an ISU fraternity

I know this is a terrible time to release this on a Friday night, but we were so excited to find a new picture of Jack recently. With just a tiny handful of known images to exist, any new picture of Jack is cause for celebration. No official article or book has ever mentioned the fact he was in a fraternity and ISU's yearbooks didn't discuss it, so we wrote a small story here: http://www.kagavi.com/jack-trice-fraternity-brother/

Enjoy the picture of Jack along with his close fraternal brother Harold Tutt in the top left corner:

Thanks for your research and hard work. What a clear and good look at Jack with his fraternity brothers and interesting how ISU and Drake students got together for what was probably a fairly historic event at that time.

Great find! Have you attempted to run down any of the brothers? Probably none still living, but would be interesting to have a conversation with them.

Sorry, we do not. Will have some interesting new projects later this year.

For so long, Jack has been propped up as a iconic figure with no real understanding of what made him tick. It was suggested he wanted to "go south to help black farmers" after his ISU time, yet this is from a shaky recollection by a childhood friend decades after Jack's death.

By seeing this picture, I suspect Jack's ambition and desire for social change may have been greater than initially suspected. I'm excited to keep digging further and paint a fuller picture of his life. Thanks for the support!

I'm focused on Harold Tutt in particular, given his close relationship with Jack, but he is quite the mysterious figure. Information has been very difficult to pin down on him--but a picture speaks a thousand words. We have already tracked down relatives of at least half of the 1923 ISU starting football lineup and some interesting stuff has already happened. Can't wait to share more.
