Pro-Bowl teams to be annouced this afternoon

I know it's not a huge deal but I love seeing who made the probowl roster. I also like predicting players. It's fun to see how many players on my fantasy team this year made the pro-bowl. Unfortunately, it will be very few this year. Anyways...here are my QB predictions:

    AFC:
    Tom Brady
Derek Anderson (Browns actually have a winning record
Peyton Manning (Colts 12-2 even with all their injuries)

    Honorable Mention: Big Ben

    NFC:
    Tony Romo
    Favre
    Hasselbeck

    Honorable Mention: Drew Brees

Re: Pro-Bowl teams to be annouced this afternoon

The Pro Bowl - The most meaningless and boring All-Star game of them all.

We all know All-Star games are meaningless, but the Pro Bowl takes the cake. It is after the season and literally means NOTHING. The only reason anyone shows up is that it is held in paradise.

Here is what I say, still pick the Pro Bowl teams, but don't play the game. No one cares and it gets rid of the small risk of injury.

Couldn't agree more. I've never watched the whole pro-bowl game, but love looking at the rosters and seeing if I agree or disagree.

    NFL Events: Pro Bowl

Can't believe Derek Anderson didn't make it. He has the Browns almost in the playoffs for crying out loud.

bush league, total bush league, Fred Taylor deserves to be there, he's a top 15 career rusher and has never been there

Re: Pro-Bowl teams to be annouced this afternoon

If Big Ben would have lost out to Derek Anderson I would have... well I dunno, probably wouldn't have done anything, but I would have been ******!!! No QB this year has done more with less protection, by far!! I don't see how Faneca made the Pro Bowl this year, he has been a shadow of himself the 1st half of the season.

Ben has to scramble his *** off damn near every play. Nobody besides Brady throws downfield more often and nobody breaks more tackles. He isn't quite as slippery as Romo, but he still threw for almost 67% and I say 50% of those came under pressure. Happy to see him finally get some Pro Bowl due.

It will be short-lived as soon as Carson Palmer gets back on track as ESPN can't get enough of he/Brady/Manning. But I'll take it this year! :)

    My all overrated team:
TJ Housyourmomma. That guy drops more passes per game than anyone in the league. Chad Johnson is the better receiver by far -I watch them probably 6 games per year and the best DB is ALWAYS on CJ. TJ won't hang onto it if you hit him. His numbers are great because they've been down in 90% of their games. He doesn't block and he talks trash all game when he gets his *** blocked by tiny DB's haha.

Sorry, had to rant there -I detest seeing his name on all-under-rated teams when he is the league leader in drops 3 out of 4 years.

Re: Pro-Bowl teams to be annouced this afternoon

Fred Taylor did get get screwed. I would have put him in over Willie Parker. Willie just didn't have that great of a year, despite leading the league in rushing.

Ben vs Derek Anderson is a little closer just by numbers:
    (64.7 completion percentage (385 attempts), 2,897 yards, 29 TDs, 11 INTs) -Ben 100.5 rating
    (56.2 completion percentage (459 attempts), 3,384 yards, 26 TDs, 14 INTs) -Derek 85.8 rating

Ben also rushed for 200 yards and a couple of TD's. I can see Derek getting some votes, but I'm taking Ben everyday. Plus 4 of his games were played in complete crap (so were some of Derek's I assume).

Although I'm a Vikes fan, I was surprised to see Sharper make it. I think Winfield has had a better year, but there's stiffer competition at that spot.

Stats are one thing, but Pitt is stacked all througoug the team. Derek has been able to win games with CLEVELAND!

Anderson got hosed! Ben-freakin-Rothesburger?!?? Comeon ... Come ooon ...

Also I think Westbrook probably deserves the start over AP, but I can live with it.

Re: Pro-Bowl teams to be annouced this afternoon

AD is starting..awesome! He deserves it over Westbrook, granted Westbrook is the entire Eagles offense, but AD leads in YPC and 3 in the league for yards while missing 2 games. He also said he would take the O Line with him to Hawaii if he made it, but 2 made it themselves. All I want for christmas is a Vikings playoff team.

The good news is that so many people drop out due to "injuries" that those guys may make it yet.

Did you really mean that? Obviously that's sarcasm. Ben vs Derek isn't even close if you've watched their games this year. Ben is NEVER on the who's who list of QB's. He didn't get elected to the Pro Bowl when he won the Super Bowl, and was only an alternate the year he went 15-1!!

He'll never get his due since they're a "running" team. Meanwhile fly-by-nights like Anderseon and Rivers and Brees and Palmer (time till tell with him) will always get the votes from the media for some reason. Ben's rap is he just controls games, um -except he was 2nd in the leage in yards per attempt. He throws deep and takes chances and wins games, period.

You do have to feel for Fred Taylor... having a great year and a solid career.

Puts up awesome numbers when you consider he shares carries with Mo Jones-Drew.
