I agree on Sons and Walking Dead. Two shows I recently started watching on Netflix that are solid are The Following and American Horror Story

Re: Best shows on t.v. (not sports)

Until Game of Thrones comes back, the Following and the Big Bang Theory are the best on TV.

Now that Archer and the Americans are on Amazon Prime I was thinking of catching up on them. Any opinions of whether either is worth my time?

I went to Austin for the basketball game a few weeks ago. When I was down there, my buddy i was staying with has HBO. I caught two episodes of True Detective...really really good. I wish I knew someone up here with HBO so I could keep watching

Both are great. The crazy thing about The Americans is you will end up "cheering", or maybe sympathizing, with the Soviet spies because the story is told from their PoV.

Do they show past episodes of True Detective? We'll be getting HBO for Game of Thrones soon and thinking of catching up on that one.
