    It's amazing the players don't hate the fans with threads like this. The players and coaches take this stuff much more in stride than the fans on this message board.

    If Hoiberg and the players are reading this stuff then ISU has a serious problem. Why on earth would you pay any attention to what a bunch of people that know nothing other than a fan's perspective of the game? I've been in an airplane before; it doesn't mean I can be a pilot. If ISU players are reading fan sites then they don't have enough to do. Might I suggest going to the gym and shooting extra shots or watching game film on your next opponent?

    While what Hoiberg said could certainly apply to a lot of CF posts, including the one you just made, I think Hoiberg was more referring to stuff like Twitter and Facebook where people reach out to the players directly.

    Maybe this has been said already, but if so I'm going to put it out there again.

    Hoiberg didn't call anyone "bad fans". He talked about people "that aren't real fans". I don't think he's referring to ISU fans at all, but rather fans of other teams trying to get in the players' heads.

    I have no doubt there's some of that going on.

    Tried to find Thomas' twitter account and couldn't; I wonder if he deleted it. If so I assume people had been dicks on there to him. If that's true, I'm glad he did.

    People can say whatever they want; it'd be hard to break out of a funk when people are trying to tear you down all the time.

    In the broader context, it seems we are discussing the issue of character and that is just one of the many areas that serve as a testament to the incredible program Fred is building here at Iowa State University. From my chair, the mayor has done an masterful job of instilling the concept that successful on the court performance and character development should be viewed as interconnected goals and aspirations of co-equal in importance. Annually, he melds together a group of transfers and top flight recruits that become as respected for their off-court character as they are for their on-court performance mediating both pedagogical and philosophical strategies into a wining formulation worthy of emulation across all coaching platforms! Unfortunately, it appears as if we have a small group of children who are unable to properly express their emotions and are acting out on Twitter or perhaps CF.

    Fortunately this team has shown they are tough and resilient, unlike the handful of chicken littles one this site that overreact to every peak and valley. I like this team's demeanor. The last three games have certainly exposed some warts, but every team has them. We are off to a good start, and the weaknesses this team has are the same ones most thought would be present. Usually in college things snowball in a huge way because emotions typically get the best of people this age. However there have been plenty of games where most teams, even top 10 teams would mail it in. These guys have never done that.
