    ISU Coaches in Super Bowl

St Paul paper says BOTH Super Bowl coaches were ISU coaches at one time early in their career.
    ISU is a coaching factory.

Both of them in them coached the secondary here, and within a few years of each other. Nice thing about being a stepping stone program, I guess.

Re: ISU Coaches in Super Bowl

...I hate to be the guy who brings Iowa into the conversation, but can't resist.

Does the fact that a lot of Hayden Fry's assistant coaches went on to have more success than him, mean that Iowa was a stepping stone for them?

Don't get me wrong--some of Fry's teams were decent, but they didn't do what Stoops or Alvarez did. Or Pete Carroll or Mack Brown, for that matter.

It just means you have to start out somewhere.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

Jimmy Johnson was on the staff too in '68-'69. You could call ISU the cradle of coaches!

My ex used me as a stepping stone until she landed a rich guy so kinda depends on who you're asking.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
