    Extreme Body Shaping

Has anyone ever gone thru the classes for Farrell's Extreme Body Shaping?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

Farrell's Extreme Bodyshaping, Farrell's FXB, Extreme Body Shaping Program, Fitness Program, Iowa and Nebraska areas

No, it's not for me, I'm usually too hungover to get up this early to work out.

A friend of mine did it, she had great success with it. I hear it is pretty tough and you really need to be disciplined, but if that is your kinda thing, and you are prepared for it, I think it can be a great program.

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

I did it for a 10 week session...you do have to be really disciplined for the course to actually work for you. The diet is probably 2/3 of the results...the diet is basically 6 meals a day high in protien and you can have pretty good amount of carbs as long as they are low in the G.I. and very few carbs with High G.I. (Glycemic Index Carbs which is basically all white flours) and lots of water.

The first classes are packed but the time commitment and the diet really cause people to quit after about week 3. I'm serious when I say this is 2/3 diet 1/3 working out...diet really makes the results

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

diet makes the biggest difference for any workout regime. people have a tough time adhering to this. it's all about discipline in what you eat with some sort of exercise program. the average person just will not give up his/her cheetos, soda pop, etc. in order to look and feel better.

you actually have to have a somewhat OCD personality to be most successful IMO. luckily I'm all about OCD (much to the dismay of my wife!)

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

My wife just finished the 10 week session and had great success - she worked extremely hard and NEVER cheated on the diet plan though.

I'm taking with her at 5:00 AM starting in January, to help keep both of us motivated. Tax season for her so days get long for her.

But I think it's a good program, if you're willing to work hard and stick to the program you can see big results.

I've known 3 people who did it and everyone had great success. The problem came when they were no longer on the program. Just like every other plan, is it something you can follow the rest of your life?

I think it is meant to jumpstart you. Then of course you need to make better decisions and keep up the workout routine on your own.

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

I just did a ten week program. First of all, I had a blast and the workouts are very intense. I had great results through 5 weeks and kinda cheated the last five weeks on the diet and still had great results. Some of the people had unbeleivable results.

I am now training to be a coach and instructor at the Beaverdale school 6:30 am classes.

I've known 3 people who did it and everyone had great success. The problem came when they were no longer on the program. Just like every other plan, is it something you can follow the rest of your life?
After the first ten weeks you can sign up for the maitenence program, it is alot cheaper than the FXB course and alot more flexible on the times you can work out.

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

I haven't done it, but two guys I work with have, and it works. That's the good news, the bad news is that it will kick your ***.

Also, like any other diet/exercise plan, you really need to keep doing it if you want to see continued results.

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

My sister did the 10 week program and had good results. She decided to stick with it. She loves the kick boxing regimen.

I have to warn you about trainers though. I had a trainer who was a friend of mine and although he meant well, he had me doing more body building than weight loss. Before I went to my new trainer, he had me doing 60 reps at 600 pounds on the leg press. Great for the ego, short on weight loss.
Since then, I have joined 24 hour fitness, bought a "bodybugg" to help monitor my activity and calorie burn. Getting good results and it is only moderately difficult.
    Good Luck

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

I've know people that love it and got great results. Also know some that felt it wasn't worth the money.

And every time, when I asked those that didn't care for it, how often they went or if they followed the diet - each admitted they didn't always play by the rules.

IMO, it's a great program as long as you will dedicate yourself to doing it 100% and maintain some sort of workout and diet plan after it. I know a few that did it, thought they were done and gained the weight back.

Thumbs up Re: Extreme Body Shaping

I just signed up for my second year of maintenance. Each time I sign up again I consider working out on my own. I have a hard time consistantly pushing myself to get a better overall work out in just 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week. An earlier post mentioned that the program is 2/3 diet... I disagree with that. Each component of the program is equally important and in order to be successful, you must treat it as that. If you slack in one area i.e. the diet, your resistance training and cardio are not going to be as effective. If you don't push your self in the bands, you won't be building muscle which in turn burns more fat....etc. etc....

If you are going to do it, commit yourself to going everyday of the 10 weeks. Wean yourself off the daily consumption of caffeine and limit your beer drinking to one day a week!

    Exactly.

Those that are considering this or something like it (both through another program or self-workouts) should note the name of this program is Extreme Body Shaping.

It's biggest goal is not weight loss, although that is a significant "side effect". It's literally shaping your body via diet, cardio and toning.

A person could lose plenty of weight just by dieting with no exercise - but have you seen those individuals? Especially the ones that lost a ton of weight via a diet? Lots of extra skin and they're not in any sort of good physical condition.

Similar thing with doing 100% cardio - good weight loss but you need toning to firm up your body. Also - not following a diet and you'll just spin your wheels - and no - I'm not referring to a stationary bike.

    Re: Extreme Body Shaping

My sister and brother-in-law just finished a 10 week program and loved it. They signed up to continue the plan. They are in West Des Moines.

Like most weight loss/fitness programs it depends a lot on your commitment to plan.
