Friday QOTW 1/17 - What ONE item represents you?

For my Speech Communication class, I have to give an impromptu speech on the one item that represents myself.

I am actually having a hard time with it.

But what one item represents who you are?

    My teams: (as of 9/20/13)
    Cleveland Browns: 0-2 - .000
    Cleveland Indians: 83-70 - .542
    Cleveland Cavs: 24-58 - .293
    Iowa State Cyclones (FB): 0-2 - .000

Item? Did the instructor give you any suggestions?

    I can't decide between:

My hookah(s) - I smoke everyday and I always have to check out the local hookah bar at places I visit
My laptop/computer - I'm a computer guy at heart. I built my first one when I was 9 years old and I've been in love with them since.
My dad (picture) - As I grow older the more like my dad I become. I went to the same school as him. I am stubborn like him. I am an avid cook like him. I am interested in money/stocks like he was.

My socks. I wore these yesterday:

To me, my socks very accurately represent who I am. I'm very business like. Though I'm a teacher, I am the teacher who normally wears a button up shirt and tie. I've got shined shoes and a very nice belt. Being a business teacher, I try to portray success to my students, and the best way to do that (aside from actually teaching them) is by the way I look. My socks, however, are that one item that I wear that represents my life outside of school. I have a second job working at a bar, which I absolutely love. I love concerts/festivals, jamming to music that people probably frown upon, and playing video games. By day, I am a full grown adult man. By night, I refuse to grow up. That's why I think my socks are a good representation of who I am.

That is actually a really tough question now that I am thinking about it. There are lots of things put together that represent me and each has had varying levels of importance at different stages in my life.

As a kid it would have been a fishing rod.
As a teenager and college student it would have been football related.
As a young adult before marriage it would have been a fishing rod or farming related.
At my current stage it's hands down my super cheesy yet awesome DAD mug that my kids made me.

Good luck with it. And my advice don't give a speech about your Hookah's.

Probably my dirty old hat that has the name of our farm on it. Represents me because I am usually wearing a hat, I love to work on the farm, and there is a pig on which shows that I enjoy the show pig industry.

And it is dirty, like I like my whisky, women, and talk.

“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.”

While I was reading through the posts, the "I love my daddy" mug my daughter made for me came to mind. It's imperfect and perfect.
