I knew we were in trouble when..........

Niang missed on the 1st half 3 ball.....

and then again in the 2nd half.

    Just uncharacteristic on his part.

Time for a bounce back game against KU.

Thoughts on when you thought it was bleak?

I did enjoy the come back and the late lead, but I noticed we never had the lead AND the ball after that possession.

The only thing I have ever wanted was to be Pete Taylor......once.

Re: I knew we were in trouble when..........

That was weird, but it didn't make me think we are in trouble. We have enough shooters to allow anybody to be off on any given night. I knew we were in trouble when we went down by 13 with about ten minutes left. They still came back and almost surprised me. OU just hit key shots at the right time--and we didn't do enough to stop them at those key times.

We got killed on second chance points. If we keep Spangler off the offensive glass or at least control him we win comfortably even though we couldn't make a shot

Generally we have finished games by getting stops in the last 4 minutes. We went up on Melvin's three 77-76 but then blew a defensive assignment and gave up an easy and1 to Spangler and ou went on a subsequent run to finish it. Need to win Monday night to win league title

Re: I knew we were in trouble when..........

Tough for the guys to give up a loss in a game where they had a late lead. ISU needs to beat KU at home on Monday--that game is so huge now. You can't count on backing into a league championship. Have to protect home court and find five or six wins on the road just to be in this thing at the end. Conference play is a meat grinder.

Re: I knew we were in trouble when..........

I felt like we were in trouble in the first half. We were not running our offense, just taking quick shots, many of the 3s. I don't mind quick shots if they are in transition, but on the road, need to value the ball, value the possessions and run some offense. We could have been up at half and not been under so much pressure in the second half.

For me it was when Kane missed those two free throws late. I am not blaming him at all. I am just pointing out that in the previous comebacks we were deadly making free throws late.

We got outrebounded 22 to 2 inside the paint and with figures like that U Cannot possibly Win!!!...Game, Set & Match.

We were looking forward to KU and never played the type of game that would win a road conference game.

We dribbled out the shot clock instead of getting a layup, which we were doing at will.

I knew we were in trouble when Kane rolled his ankle, because that means more then one game is in trouble.

Re: I knew we were in trouble when..........

I knew it was over when twice in the game Kane missed both free throws at the line. We had so much momentum both times he went to the line, and both times he missed both shots

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

When OU was wide open from 3 on basically every time they shot one.
