South Union is still there - and you can pick up their breads around town at various places - or used to. Foccacia is awesome.

Had Tasty Taco's last night. Pretty good, but my wife loves it.

Had cool Basil last week. Used to like that place. Last couple times has been awful. Last meal in particular. Take out - got there early. Food was cold, hair in one of the rices, wouldn't do anything on the bill. They're done in my book.

No ****. I've stuck mainly to chain restaurants (I love Chipotle to death), and I've had Wig and Pen's pizza once (I'd eat there way more if I could afford it). The rest of my eating out has been mainly Casey's pizza and Jimmy John's for lunch.

Went to Tasty Tacos tonite ordered 1regular taco 1 steak taco. I ended up with 2 reg. tacos. I sort of liked the puffy shells but I thought the tacos were pretty bland. What do people usually order that makes this place so popular?

Every time someone says Jethros has good food, I kill a puppy.

It's important he states that so he can feel superior.

The Radish in Grimes has the best tenderloin I have ever eaten. And Sambetti's for lunch is awesome.

For me, it's the hot sauce that makes Tasty Tacos. Without that, I would agree that the tacos are bland.

Re: Best Hidden Gems In Des Moines Area

My wife and I went to La Cuscatleca Pupuseria for the first time today because of the pictures and recommendation of TRZA. The food there is excellent El Salvadoran food. Highly recommended!!

We went nuts trying many of the items on their menu
because it all looked so good... and it was still very inexpensive even though we overindulged.
