Could this be an explanation for our offensive struggles?

Prior to this season DM broke the offensive coordinator responsibilities into a running coordinator (Barney Cotton) and a passing coordinator (Todd Fitch). I had high hopes that this would bring some new ideas and complexity to our offensive game plans, yet it doesn't appear to have accomplished that.

I'm wondering if this change has actually resulted in a step back in our offensive production. I'm not sure how the play calling is handled, but does it put two coaches in competition with each other as to what plays to call? How are half time adjustments handled?

Has our passing game taken a step back as a result of this change?

Yes, we have taken a step back in the interested to develop a running game. However, it might take till the last game before we get it synchronized.

Is that normal to have a passing and running cordinator ? They need to take a step back and re-evaluate the offensive plans.
