    Johnny Manziel - pro prospects?

The kid seems to have the tools but is anyone concerned about his overall maturity level? What do you guys think of his mental make-up and pro prospects?

I see Teddy going pro and if Manziel goes I harken back to the debate over Peyton vs. Ryan Leaf. Leaf had the tools but not the maturity.

Manzeil did stupid college kid stuff. I'd be much more worried about his size and ability to take hits from NFL players than his maturity.

I wouldnt take Manziel if my life depended on it. I do not think his style of play will translate to the NFL. I dont think he could stay out of trouble long enough to be productive.

Anyone in the top 15 of the draft who needs a QB and doesn't take him is crazy. That's what I think.

I only question his durability. He's been banged up this year, and his style of play, for such a small guy, can lead to lots of bumps and bruises. He most certainly has the ability to be a stud QB in the NFL- great passer, good scrambler, strong arm, etc.

Lots on aggies in my neighborhood filling their mason jars with hopes that the Texans will take him.

I don't think his wild scrambling around will work in the NFL. Those defenses will contain him and put hits on him. There are many other QB's a team in the top 15 could take that I feel are better suited for the NFL.

He's going to be good when he's on the field, but I think he's going to be hurt so often that he would amount to much. His elusiveness is very effective in college but the NFL dlinemen are much better athletes and will crush him if he tries those moves.

Can't stay out of trouble? All he's done in college is sign autographs for money and occasionally go out drinking. Both 100% legal activities in the Pros.

His work ethic gets praise from every analyst that has watched him in practice.

I do think he'll get his bell rung trying to scramble in the NFL.

All that said, I think he'll be a stud if he's healthy in the NFL. I'd want him on my team b/c he's entertaining as hell to watch.

I don't know about staying out of trouble, but if you watched him during the year, a lot of the fantastic plays he made are basically schoolyard plays that would get destroyed by NFL defenses. He has nice escapability, I'll give him that. But he's going to throw a lot of INT's in the NFL.

Amen. I'd want him on my team, and would love to play with him. Last night's performance was epic. He should have won the Heisman again.

He will have a Tebow-like career.

I'm personally glad he didn't win the Herman again, and I'm pretty sure the voters will do just about anything possible to not have another 2-time winner

I would counter that I think he'll do fine in the NFL, as he's shown he can be a decent pocket passer this year. I would be interested in what your rankings look like, Curt. Assuming Bridgewater is the top pick, where do Bortles and Manziel fall?
