    Meteor

Anyone else see the meteor around 5:40? It was moving east to west and was north of Iowa City.

    Re: Meteor

I saw it in from south Ames looking north it was heading SE to NW. Thought it was a low flying plane at first. Had time to get to the window to see it break up. Very cool.

Saw it from I-80 in western Iowa. Must have been pretty high up in the atmosphere.

Are you sure it wasn't the international space station? It is visible from the naked eye from time to time.

It was fiery. Sounds like lots of people saw it all over Iowa.

Yes. My wife & I were on I-280 south of Rock Island and saw it. Wasn't sure what it was.

No. You can't mistake the light that was seen tonight with the space station.

We're overcast up here and people were still reporting the sky lit up blue/green.

Haven't seen any credible images of it yet... and we very well may not unless someone got it on a dashcam, surveillance cam, or timelapse.

It had more of a Cessna Citation taking off from the Ames airport look to it.
