They didn't have a bad loss which means that if they moderately take care of business in the Big 10 they will get in. They aren't a lock but will have to underperform to miss it. It would be glorious if it happened but I'd be quite surprised.

Crazy talk. If Iowa goes 12-6 in conference, they'll have a great seed.

They play Wisconsin, MSU, Michigan and Ohio State all twice, so 12-6 guarantees they'd have at least 2 wins against those four teams (and swept the rest of the league). That would mean another 4 wins over Minnesota and Illinois, wherever you rank them.

They'd pretty much have to go 9-9 or worse to be bubble. Barring complete implosion, they're making it in.

Their RPI is light years ahead of last year's Iowa team at this point and they were pretty close then. They would have to do really poorly in the B1G to get left out this year. Plus, I'm not sold that the B1G is as good as it was last year.

Before this weekend ND would've been lucky to sneak in. Without Grant they have almost no chance. I don't think Xavier makes it in.

At the end of the season Iowa is likely going to have an awesome 0-2 record vs. tourney teams. Fortunately they only play in the #2 RPI conference (behind the B12) so they ought to be able to rack up some wins. I wonder how many times Dino Gaudio will talk about how the B12 might arguably be the second best conference behind the B10. Don't let actual data and the rating system that probably has more NCAA tourney weight than any other get in the way of your media narrative, Dino. I did like that the other guy told him that B12 was #1 in RPI.

Losing 23 of 24 to ranked teams usually indicates that you're not really tournament material.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I was thinking the same thing. I figured everyone in the nation knew they were a shoe in for the Final Four this year.

Came across this little gem this morning. Take a gander at #1 on this list. Also Iowa pops in at #5. So if they are final four sleeper potential what does that make us?
The hoks were not supposed to be on this list. They were supposed to be on the "Top 10 Sleeping Teams."

I was wondering about this today too. Their entire resume will be in conference basically.

Well, considering they play in the greatest conference ever assembled in organized athletics they should be fine.

In all seriousness, their SOS in non-con was so bad last year and they had the weakest possible unbalanced conf. schedule last year and still were close to getting in. Their two losses so far have not hurt their RPI and they have a couple of decent wins and no bad losses. I'd say 10-8 in conf. means they are in.

    I'll believe 10-8 when I see it.
