    Re: car question

transmission is slipping and will most likely go out. It is common Ford problem. I had it happen in a Ford 250, Explorer and a Mercury Mountaineer (copy of the Explorer). New transmission will cost between $2500 and $3500. However if caught early they may beable to replace parts and not the whole thing.

    Re: car question

Wife had a car that started doing that. Took it to a transmission shop and they told us we needed a new transmission, $1700. I decided to take it to my local shop. It cost me $126 for new transmission fluid and filters. Had that car for another 3 years with no issues.

I now take everything to my local shop first and at least let them look at it. They can do almost anything for a better price than the dealer unless it is under warranty.

    Re: car question

I've had issues with my Ford transmission also. It took me a long time to get my head around buying an American car after a series of garbage vehicles back in the day.

This will be my last one. Fewer issues with my 10 year old Japanese truck than this 2 year old Ford

    Re: car question

Are you sure it's not a Dodge? Everyone knows only Dodges have transmission problems.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not.
