Re: RECRUITING: Future punter is an enforcer on the ice

I'm not going to lie Chris you got me excited, I was hoping to see more than 10 penalty minutes from our punter/enforcer last year WNS Storm - 2012-2013 Regular Season - Roster - #19 - Colin Downing - D

    Nice article, Chris.

I suppose we'll find out eventually, but I wonder if there is any chance he takes over Edwin's kickoff duties, since Cole didn't seem to have as big a leg...

I guess I just don't see a 5'11" 170 pounder doing much "enforcing" on the football field.

I think what cyby is saying, is that no matter what the position is..a D1 player that is 5'11" 170 won't be that scary to a ball carrier. Hell, but then again he could be the next Daniel Sepulveda

Wii Fit told me I should be 170 and I'm 6'3". So he must be solid or fat.

I think you have way too large of a frame for 170, State. Heck I run right around 170 most of the time at 6' and some people tell me I'm too skinny. (I'm not.)

170lbs seems like the minimum for 6'3". I've been 175lbs for the past 7 years

That's because I beat up on him when he was growing up knowing that it would make him the enforcer of the kickoff team when he grew up.

EDIT: I had completely forgotten about Western Michigan's punter from a few years back that had 36 tackles his senior year. They had a piece about him on ESPN about how he would kick off and then chase down the ball and was often the first guy to the ball carrier because blocking the kicker wasn't part of the receiving team's blocking scheme. THAT kid was an enforcer!
