    Anchorman II

Anybody else get out and see it tonight? Went out to Jordan Creek and just got back a bit ago.

I was a little skeptical going in with all the hype built up and sequels rarely working out, BUT I really enjoyed this movie. It has one liners for days. Towards the end, it got a bit over the top and I feel it kind of brought it down a notch. I can't bring myself to say it was as good as the first, because that is a classic but it's definitely close. Non stop laughter throughout.

    Check it out!

    Re: Anchorman II

Since I couldn't stand Anchorman the original, I doubt I'll see the sequel. I thought the "comedy" in it was too juvenile for words. I'm not a big fan of lowest common denominator comedy.

Whatever you're into, but this will probably not be the thread for you if that is true.

Anchorman is my favorite comedy of all time so I have decided that no matter how good the movie is I'm just going to pretend to myself it is 100% awesome. Most movies I've ever hated I went into way too hyped up and then over analyzed it too much.

Do you have many leather bound books? Does your apartment smell of rich mahogany?

    Re: Anchorman II

The first 30 minutes of Anchorman were so bad I walked out. I'm glad my friends talked me into re-watching it because once I got past the worst 30 minutes of any movie ever made (I refuse to believe that "Battlefield Earth" truly exists), the rest of the movie was damn funny.

I'll have to see the sequel at some point.

Even my uptight in-laws think the 1st Anchorman was hilarious.. Let me guess, you also think Dumb and Dumber and Tommy Boy are terrible movies too?

I avoid this problem because it almost always takes longer than 30 minutes to finish the whiskey in my flask.

Wow, heaven forbid somebody have an opinion different than yours. He didn't say people who like the movie are idiots, just that he didn't care for it. Good Lord you high and mighty people drive me crazy. If your in-laws liked it, I guess everybody else should. Perfect logic.

Agree with this. I have no issues with anyone who like the 1st movie. I personally did not care for it at all. Just not my cup of tea... and I like plenty of "stupid" over the top comedy movies... I like Land of the Lost for crying out loud!

I'm not sure how you can hate the first 30 minutes, yet still like the rest of it.
