    Finding ISU Garb

Where are some of the oddest/coolest places you seen others repping ISU gear?

I remember walking down downtown St. Thomas and seeing a dude in a ISU hat/shirt and yelled GO STATE! Looked back and gave me a number one. Saw the same dude like 3 times while we were down there. Small world. Or is it that the ISU world is a big world?

    Re: Finding ISU Garb

Turtle Mountain Brewery in Rio Rancho, NM. Only time I have met a Clone fan down here, and I have been here 10 years now. Chatted with the guy a bit. It turns out, when I first arrived at the Turtle, there were two Hok fans talking crap to me. Even down here the Hok fans outnumber Clone fans big time. But just like in Iowa, they run their mouth and make themselves look stoopid no matter where they are at!

Real answer though, I've ran into ISU fans in Mexico and Australia before. (For aussie study abroaders, they were on their honeymoon at the reef, not felling students).

Anyone else purposely do this? I wear Cyclone gear all the time when I travel. Great for airports or theme parks.

I was wearing an ISU jacket. 2 days ago I had someone say go Cyclones right as I was getting ready to jump on a boat to go ocean fishing in California.

    Re: Finding ISU Garb

I went into Wilson's sports bar on Atwood in Madison a few years ago. They had an ISU football jersey signed by a bunch of the team, framed and hanging up. I asked about it. Apparently it was from the 2000 team. There were some ISU football students in Madison for some engineering course/conference whatever and were looking to watch the ISU basketball game. They had trouble finding a place with the game on, they showed up at Wilson's where the manager put the game on for them. As a "Thank you", the players send the jersey to the bar.

Pretty cool of the team members to do that and cool the bar hung it on the wall it being Badger country. It isn't hanging there now, but I think they just took it down within the last 3 years.

Yep. Anytime I'm flying or even driving out of state you can bet I have an ISU shirt & hat on!

I did a J-term in China and saw a guy walking down the street in Shanghai wearing an Iowa State jacket. Pretty random, and I wish I would have had a chance to talk to him.

I can confirm this story as legit.

Also, the man most likely would not have been able to speak English if you did have the chance to talk to him!
