    UT @ UNC

Huge game tonight for Texas MBB who visits Chapel Hill @ 6pm CST tonight on ESPN2:
Texas Longhorns vs. North Carolina Tar Heels - Preview - December 18, 2013 - ESPN

This is a big opportunity for the Longhorns to enhance their RPI with a road win over a ranked opponent. With Michigan State visiting Austin on Saturday (3pm on CBS), this is also a big week for the Longhorns contribution to the Big 12's RPI, with these being 2 of the more significant non-conference matchups of the year. I will be pulling for them, although it will be an uphill battle for them, as well as for coach, and NC native, Rick Barnes.

After an unprecedented run of 14 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, UT entered the pay-for-play CBI tournament in 2013 after posting their first losing season of the millennium. Coach Barnes will need to show new AD Steve Patterson last season was an aberration, or could find himself on the hot seat this spring.

    Re: UT @ UNC

Hopefully the UNC players haven't read any of the articles about UT potentially making it back to the tourney this year and don't deem the Longhorns a good enough opponent to show up for. Would be a great win for conference RPI and put another big dent in in UNC's case for staying high in the rankings.

UT is very young, aren't they? I'd love to see an RPI boosting win here.

Very early but Texas looking solid. UNC doesn't look like they feel like playing defense yet either though

    Re: UT @ UNC

Said it earlier this year. Texas is MUCH better than anyone thought they would be. I think they are going to be very difficult to beat. Same goes for OU.

I see 6 from the Big 12 making the tournament.

Agreed. Marking them as a loss at UT. Will be tough at home as well

Good, maybe we'll actually move past UNC like we should have.

Texas looks like the 6th best team in this league. They'll be tough in Austin.

They look better than Oklahoma to me right now.

You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man, Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. You feel it. You feel it. Its real. You feel it on the court. Its a tough feeling to explain. Its a vibration. It gets you going.

    He paused.

    Its magic.

They may be much better than that. I've watched them a couple times and they have looked pretty darn salty.

Team is made up of sophomores and freshmen. They will only get better as the season progresses. Watch out.

Texas impressing tonight, leading 29-15 in rebounds at the half, with 53-42 on the scoreboard. So good, so far!

Great first half. If they hold on and win it, that's arguably the conference's best preseason win.

Considering its on the road, agreed. UNC is overrated a bit though. They did lose to Belmont and UAB after all.
