Did I miss something on Wally? Are there retirement rumors?

Re: Preview/Prediction: Iowa State @ West Virginia

Clearly, Grant had a good game against Kansas, and we're all hoping he can build on that against WVU and carry some momentum into the offseason. But I disagree with the following statements.

Rohach, a redshirt freshman, has taken his lumps along the way and to his credit, gotten better every week despite not having a whole lot of help around him.
Rohach is clearly getting better every time he takes the field.
I think that's a bit of revisionist history that fits a convenient storyline, because I don't see much in the numbers below that suggest he's clearly gotten better with each game. In fact, as recently as the OU game we all witnessed him throwing a couple of the ugliest INTs we've seen in recent memory. And our six 2nd half possessions against OU resulted in 5 punts and an INT, while converting just one 3rd down.

    BU: 8-13 65yds 1INT 1TD
    OSU: 12-23 97yds 0INT 1TD
    KSU: 11-24 88yds 2INT 0TD
    TCU: 18-39 148yds 0INT 0TD
    OU: 21-34 179yds 2INT 0TD
    KU: 15-20 300yds 1INT 2TD

There may be some intangibles that suggest he's making that game-to-game progress, but those are hard to put a finger on. Clear progress is measured by on-field production, which has been hit or miss until the KU game. Let's hope those performances happen more frequently and Grant has a better fate than his three predecessors at the position.
