    Time to revamp the HS football classes?

    When I lived in Illinois I'm pretty certain that private high schools had to compete 2 classes above their actual enrollment when the playoffs rolled around. Looking at this year's results, is it time to make that move in Iowa? In effect, Heelan would move to 4A, IC Regina to 2A or even 3A. The other option would be to move to 8-man. Is it time? Regina hasn't lost a game in like, 5-6 years?

    Might not hurt but some schools (Western, Unity, PC, DMC) don't seem to have much of an advantage. Hate to make them move up when they don't do much in their current classes.

    Dont they already do something like this for wrestling? I thought Assumption ran into it several years ago where they had to count the population for every town they had a student from.

    What do you do with the largest schools? I believe that WDM Dowling is the only 4A school that is actually 4A-sized by enrollment. CR Xavier, SC Heelan, and DBQ Wahlert are all 3A-sized and Dav. Assumption is 2A-sized if I remember right.

    Regina should voluntarily move up......but bureaucratic-mind-numbed friends of mine just simply regurgitate "they can't". Why not? No monolithic, unbending rule should be applied. Not sure what the answer is.....the situation with Regina is unique. Awesome coach, very affluent town, business approach to football when lots of relatively recreational football surrounding it in the same class.
