If you participate in a game thread, you know how it goes. It's a constant world is ending, no this is the best thing ever, situation. That's nothing new. If you take it as real life......well...that's on you.

It's all good man. Like I said earlier just wanted to give some crap out. You shouldn't take me as seriously as you are.

Re: Some of our fans are quitters

Most diehard cyclones fans get into the game hardcore, and sometimes angry. Hell I was yelling all night watching it on TV, the difference is that I didn't put my thoughts into words on a forum. I find confidence that Fred Hoiberg coached team is always going to be smart and play hard, and I generally avoid teh game thread is full of a bunch of debbie downers lol.

I wasn't here for that, but I remember the ESPN boards were horrible for that one.

Let's not turn the basketball forum into the football forum. There is no need for countless dumb threads to be started. It happened. Move on. A thread doesn't need to be opened just to complain about our own fans.

Re: Some of our fans are quitters

I'm willing to admit that I was one of those fans that turned away from the game tonight, I also turned back. Am I the only one who is superstitious about these things? When things went bad, I focused on other things (in my defense, I was at work), when things were looking good I watched (and then things went bad). After watching Kane get ejected and Ejim fouling out I thought I was cursing the Cyclones. It's like telling an actor to "break a leg" and never saying "good luck" to them. I know this thread was meant as a but please tell me that there are others who feel like me and do strange things because they feel it affects the game!

Honestly sometimes I stop watching for two reasons: 1. I get stressed and 2. I think tat the team magically plays better if I turn it off...

Re: Some of our fans are quitters

Its a great win. A team like BYU who can shoot lights out and doesn't turn it over is always going to be hot and have a great spell of a few minutes somewhere in the game and outscore you 15-2 somewhere.

Rest of the game ISU was clearly the better team. Kane showed his dominance and why being a great rebounding guard he has a chance to play in the NBA some of his offensive boards were huge. BYU's guards are good but he was better. (That Carlino has turned himself into a player.)

Ejim outplayed Haws. Niang's take with about a minute 20 to go was unbelievably clutch BYU was ready to pull that game out and that fg probably won the game.

Niang Ejim and Kane are stars and the rest of the team is young and getting better. ISU could win it all this year with a coach as good as any and those 3 key players who are pretty much as good as anyone at this level (within reason I'm not saying any will get drafted ahead of Marcus Smart or anything.)

Okay, guilty as charged, I slept through the game (something about getting up at 3 a.m. and working a 17-hour day) - did not make it conscious past 9 p.m. but not because I didn't want to see da Clones! If you call that "quitting", then "quit" I did.

    GO CLONES !

Re: Some of our fans are quitters

Unless we're down by over 40, it makes no sense to turn off a basketball game in the first half, ever.

It's not like football where you can be getting dominated in every facet of the game, so it's unbearable to watch.

Basketball is fun to watch just for the individual performances even if you're getting beat badly.
