It became obvious how important he was in the lineup. This game was amazing. I'm still not all sold on him though. I know he is greatly important to this team, but I'm not seeing this legend in front of me like a lot of you seem to.

There was a stat quoted I think in the cyclone pregame show...I could be wrong...that Mel has a chance to be one of 3 cyclones ever to get to X points, X rebounds, and X assists (?)...and the other 2 were like Hoiberg and Grayer/Hornacek?

OK admittedly, I'm completely devoid of actual information here, but I remember hearing it and thinking...holy crap, Mel's up there with the legends! Someone help me out with the actual details?

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

There was another thread someone was talking about Ejim and a few big dunks he's missed this year. One example was the drive and dunk he missed against Iowa.
Reading Steve Malchow's piece this morning, I believe this is a picture of that "missed dunk". I remember Ejim hitting the floor and looked at the refs but never saw a replay. How was this not called a foul?

Well duh, would be a foul if a hand check. This is merely a hard whack to the chest/armpit. Amazing he came as close on that as he did.

Assuming he would have made his 2 free throws, Ejim would have tied Niang for leading scorer on the night and we would have had split Big12 player of the week awards

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

He is only averaging 18.7 points per game, 7.7 rebounds. 2 assists and 1.2 steals a game this year.
Yet there are still people downplaying how good he is. Im surprised there aren't idiots on here still thinking he won't start.
He has played great in all the big games this year.

That's exactly what I thought when it happened. I also think that because of this dunk he didn't even try for another one the rest of the game which could have started a huge run for us.
