Yes. A BIG Thank You to Melvin Ejim. A truly great Cyclone. You chose to become a Cyclone while some other guy I can't remember snubbed us and went someplace else. Thank you Melvin.

And for a serious post, Ejim proved he was the glue of the Cyclone team this season. He's the leader!

We don't win this game at this point in the year with last year's team - Ejim talked on the post game with DV about the biggest difference between the two ISU teams - we are BETTER on 'D.' We got stops down the stretch and didn't let them get back into it. It stayed a 3 possession game with under 45sec to go & that was huge.

So there are 25 NBA scouts with the name "EJIM" circled at the top of their game notebooks. That doesn't hurt. He's sort of an NBA tweener, but he plays way bigger than 6-6.

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

This team is going to be very good. I'm not convinced that we don't have a shot at a conf title. Ejim, Niang and Hogue are a load for any team to deal with down low especially on the boards...but then you add Kane down low who can also post up at will and this team has the potential to give any team match up problems. Like Ejim said in the post game..this team may not be as prolific of a three point shooting team but this team can abuse you down low and is a far better defensive team. Add some occasional threes and this team has loads of upside.

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

If Ejim stays healthy all year, he has a legit shot at becoming only the 3rd player in ISU history with 1000 rebounds.

We only won today because of him. Ejim = beast.

Our off the bench guy (Ejim) was tougher than anyone Big Blue offered out there.

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

Thanks for starting this thread. Great idea!! What impressed me the most tonight was 1) he didn't seem rusty at all, and 2) he has added some new inside moves that he did not have last year. It is always fun to watch a player develop over the years, but in Ejim's case, the improvement has been unMELievable.

I would say spending the summer playing for Canada in the World University Games helped.

Truely one of our greats and he hasn't played his senior season yet. Just a great example of everything that is good about college athletics. I am going to love watching him play this year. Great player. Just keeps getting better.
