    *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

I stepped away for a bit to eat. Seriously how does this thread not already exist.

Melvin last year was great but based on this game he's really stepped it up. Amazing game and probably not 100%.

In ISU history this was the equivalent of Willis Reed playing in MSG.

This has the potential to be a very special team. He has some help now with the rebounding with Hogue, Niang, and Kane. If the outside shooting can just pick up a little bit...could be a very good year.

-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".

Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"

The talk about his improved ball handling was absolutely 100% true. Guy can do it all.

Exactly. Could you imagine Dickie V. praising his "hands" based on how troubled he was holding on to the ball as a frosh? Love his drive and enthusiasm. And skills.

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.

Melvin is definitely not the same guy that was back then. He was good, but it would drive me nuts when he would fumble away 3-4 balls under the basket in a game. Now he snatches it out of the sky and puts it in the basket with one smooth motion.

I remember the hands-issue well (and it was frustrating to watch). Simultaneously, I recall seeing hints of potential waiting to surface.

    It certainly surfaced.

Speaking of hands, our team had really good hands tonight. Hot passes or rebounds usually were tracked down.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

Re: *** Ejim Appreciation Thread ***

I hated Melvin his Freshman year. He couldn't catch anything. I feel like half of Diante's turnovers were because of Ejim. His sophomore year, I didn't really like him, but he played great D, and tried hard. Royce could probably blame Ejim for a lot of his turnovers too. Junior year I started to like him. It became obvious how important he was in the lineup. This game was amazing. I'm still not all sold on him though. I know he is greatly important to this team, but I'm not seeing this legend in front of me like a lot of you seem to.
