Maybe because the OP is implying that your team is full of quick giants.

Agree, plus Hogue and Ejim both play bigger than they are. Maybe the Iowa faithful realized why Fran wanted Hogue so bad after tuning in yesterday?

I agree Deanvogs. I kind of like our 6'6" "high energy" guys. Ejim and Hogue did not seen to mind giving up 3-4 inches to Michigan's big guys.

I really think the difference this year is Iowa will struggle to defend both ejim and hogue and really struggle to match up with Kane who will abuse gessel or Clemons.
Why the excuses for last year? I wouldn't call going 2-5 from 3pt range as going off (Ogelsby). ISU pretty much shut down Marble on the offensive end last year, but it didn't matter. He played great D on Clyburn and will probably draw the Kane assignment.

If Iowa gets ISU's bigs in foul trouble again this year, they will have a chance. I don't think Iowa wins, but it isn't going to be some cake walk for ISU.

I wan't that impressed with Hogue. Could be a product of our bad teams, as we played for sooooo freaking long being undersized under Lick, that it is hard for me to want to go back to that. Now that is completely unfair, and I get it, but that is Iowa's experience with undersized front court guys.

We aren't undersized, we're right-sized. Fred's put together a good rebounding team that can get out and move against anybody. I'll take this any day.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Getting a double double against the #7 team in the country while being one of our best defenders doesn't impress you? Hmmm

We are deep in the front court, we just didn't need a JUCO front court guy. Nothing personal, and as I said it is probably unfair, but we need guard help much more than front court help, especially short term. We have Basabe, White, and Uthoff along with 2 Centers, we just don't need him like ISU did/does.

You didn't need a JUCO front court guy? Why was he Fran's top target last year then?

It won't be long until Iowa fans realize the difference between "deep" and "talented"

A laterally challenged guy with knee braces is a curious choice for "guard help".

Or calling you out for saying "we" don't need a JUCO front court guy when your head coach offered him a scholarship...I guess you know more than him though.

He had lots of offers out. CFH had lots of offers out. At one point CFH wanted Amardi....then he didn't. Why did CFH change his mind? Can Fran change his?

White made Ejim look silly last year, so hopefully Melvin wants to redeem that.
